Two weeks ago (Jan 31) I had an interview. I couldn’t tell how the interview went—I think it went well enough but it’s hard to tell when I’m so nervous about getting in. Before the interview, they told me I was on the short list. I know the admissions numbers from last year and 10 people applied and about 5 got in—so I don’t know how much shorter the short list could be. ANyway, at the end of the interview I asked when I would hear back and they said ‘next week’. Which was last week.... should I be worried?

I have been sick with worry for days. This school is at the very top of my list. I visited back in October and have been working hard to lined everything up ever since. I even have a research project planned with an advisor (at an associated institution which doesn’t help much for the admissions committee). Last week I received an email that I was on the short list and I interviewed via Skype 2 days later. I felt short of strange about the interview but I can’t tell if it’s just my nerves or not. They told me I would hear back next week, but I still haven’t heard and I’m so anxious I could explode.
