  1. Thank you for sharing, @TrailMixand @Tarantinoverse. Super helpful! Since I'm not the only one, I think I'll wait a bit longer - even though it seems pretty clear where I stand at this point.
  2. I also got a "no" from Brown. Wondering if everyone who applied to UCSD other than me officially heard back by now? Knowing that @Agezis in - and having seen that several other people shared on the Results page that they got emails with their official status last weekend - I'm wondering if I should email UCSD and inquire where things stand for me?
  3. @c.k.thompson.playwright- this is totally normal. It's still a little early. ?
  4. Wow, @Agez - that's amazing! UCSD seems like such an incredible program. A huge congrats!!
  5. Congrats, @Agez! That's amazing news!! (And also very helpful - thank you for letting us know.) Best of luck tomorrow!
  6. That’s incredibly helpful, @jck349! I am really glad to hear that you had such a positive experience interviewing for the program last year. Best of luck with reapplying!! (Indeed, the past 8 months changed so much!)
  7. @Agez this is very helpful. Thank you so much!
  8. Thinking of reapplying to MFA programs this year, and looking into CMU for the first time. Wondering if any of you know more about their program? Specifically, wondering if Rob Handle is the only professor? If so, what he’s like (and if not, who else teaches there)? How many students are accepted every year? How much financial aid does the school of drama typically provide? And what is people’s overall impression of the program? Thank you!
  9. Same. Which I found to be weird since only last week they said I was still being considered, so I contacted them to clarify if one of the messages I got was a mistake. Apparently neither was - the heads of the Playwriting Department were able to meet sooner than anticipated and make decisions. That’s the end of my application journey this year, I am afraid. Congratulations to any of you who will be going to grad school next year and thank you all for the support. It was lovely to be part of this online community this year.
  10. I also got it! The fact that it says that “they’re pleased to inform me” that my play is still under consideration makes me think that whoever received it passed a certain stage in the process, but who knows. Hoping you’re all staying safe!
  11. Rejected from Iowa & NYU in the past week or so. At this point, waiting on Juilliard and to learn if I got off the BU waitlist. It’s been a stressful week- seeing the rise in confirmed cases in NYC (and hearing too many stories of people who experienced symptoms and were told to just stay home and not get tested), I decided to fly overseas to stay with family. Being in airports and on an airplane was very stressful- but I am just glad to be home. I’d certainly welcome good news about grad school next year... Hoping you are all staying safe (and sane!) given the coronavirus outbreak!
  12. Hey! Update from me: I’m also on the BU waitlist!! Really needed the good news given this semi-apocalyptic week...
  13. Congrats, @Zadican! That’s really awesome!! And @Dongato- Three interviews and a compliment from David Henry Hwang? I think you should feel REALLY good about yourself! ☺️
  14. Congrats, @zayzay!! That’s really amazing! If I were you, I’d wait a week and then email these programs if you still hear nothing. They should be able to clarify where you’re standing. Also, don’t know if it’s just me, but I just got the rejection notification from Brown. Figured it was coming since a few people have gotten interview requests, but now it’s official.
  15. I actually asked a few weeks ago (since I am bilingual and actually write plays in two languages, I wanted to know so I could properly address it in my personal statement): Technically, the program is actually part of the English Department (and NOT the Theater Department). The program has significantly evolved over the years and works very closely with the Theater Department, but since it’s formally part of the English Department- students must meet this requirement, which is mandatory for all students in this department.
  16. I think that the requirement to be fluent in a second language at a graduate level also deters a lot of people.
  17. Nope. Waiting as well. Since their deadline was February 15, I am guessing it’ll be a while.
  18. Same. Got mine today too. ☹️
  19. Thank you. And... just got the rejection email from Michener. Not surprised, given the fact that folks were invited for an interview, but now it’s official. Fingers crossed for one less school now. ☺️
  20. Has everyone else who applied to Michener heard something? Noticed that there are two notifications about rejections from Michener on the results page, but I was neither contacted for an interview nor was I notified about a rejection... Anyone else in the same boat?
  21. Went to the Yale School of Drama open house last year and can confirm that this information is accurate!
  22. @Agez- Congrats!! That's awesome!
  23. @newengland1 - Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful!
