  1. I'm wondering how everyone decided which program to attend. It's almost April 15, I am still over the fence. I ended up attending SU open house and having a private tour of UB. Both have pros and cons. I was very impressed with SU's clinic and UB's research labs (and the very friendly personable profs at UB). How do you make a decision that will dictate the course of your career?

  2. I've been waitlisted at UWO. I'll probably tell them to take me off the wait list since I have been accepted to other programs. So if you're put on waitlist at UWO, you might get a lucky phone call after April 15 since there is one fewer person to compete in the candidate pool.

I'm still deciding between UBC and a couple other US programs. I toured both programs in the States last week and I have to admit that it made the decision making process more difficult. More didactic courses and clinical experience are very tempting, as well as all the opportunities as a student and clinician. But I am worried about student loan I'll graduate with as I am not 24 year old and it will be easier for my husband to move with me. So, I am very likely to accept UBC's offer in the end. If you're planning to attend UBC, holla at me. ?

Hi all, just curious to see if anyone has applied to, been accepted to, or has been waitlisted for UOP's program in San Francisco?

I have been accepted to UOP after an interview. But I'm probably not going... Too expensive for me without any funding. ?

Accepted to UBC as well just now! Waiting for Dalhousie. Good luck every one.

Congrats! I'm still pretty torn between UBC and another US program, which offers me a grant to cover 2 years of tuition. I'll be pulling my hair until April 15 for sure.

Who knows, maybe we will be classmates!

Got an email from Syracuse asking to speak on the phone sometime next week (I've already been accepted). Did anyone get this email too or know why they would like to speak again?

I did. It was the same prof who interviewed me. I'm speaking with her next week.

  6. I made a last minute decision to attend the Open House at Syracuse University next weekend. Since I live in western Canada, it's a big trip. But I wanted to meet my potential faculty and cohort before I make a commitment. If you are also going, give me a shout out! I'd like to connect!

P.S - Has anyone heard from Louisiana State?

  7. @libAuD I got the same email today. I was expecting it but I am still disappointed.

I am contemplating to contact Dr. Lee to ask where I am on the waitlist. If there is little hope, I'm going to have to take an offer from another program.

Good luck with the waiting game. I'll keep you posted. Hang in there!

Have you emailed them about the payment issue? Also, does your portal give you that message at the results bit about it being a direct receipt program? I'm worried they might not have gotten all my info from CSDCAS....

I did pay through the university website and I even got a receipt. I emailed the Admissions Office with no luck so I contacted the department a few days ago. Last Friday, Dr. Lee, the program coordinator responded that the committee was reviewing all the applications submitted to CSDCAS (later I found out that they had actually sent out admission letters at this point). Dr. Lee also CC'd  the person who can shed light into the matter. I'll have to contact her again since I haven't heard anything from her.

Luckily, I have been admitted to three other schools but I was really hoping to get into USF.... I feel disappointed and frustrated for sure that I might not have had a chance for a review.

I got an email on Friday from the AuD admissions department!!

Thanks for responding!I had a feeling that they would release decisions on Friday. I haven't heard from them so I think I am either waitlisted or rejected...

Or they didn't even review my application since their website says I didn't pay for the application fee so they can't process it. Well, I'm not sure if I should email them or just wait for my rejection letter. Feeling quite confused!

Hi!! So excited to be accepted to USF and I'm seriously considering attending!! Are there other out of staters like myself considering going to USF? My only concern is that it may possibly be more of a commuter program (but I'm not sure!). I hope to have a social life on the weekends with my cohort :)

Congratulations! May I ask how you found out? Did you get an email or did you check your status on their website?

    Many thanks in advance!

I believe this is the admission website: https://www.grad.usf.edu/sonic3/status.php ! There's a thing where you click to "check application status" but for me nothing is coming up so I'm assuming they haven't released anything!  I am too!  I've heard that they release their decisions around this time so I'm hoping for next Friday!

Thank you! The website says I haven't paid my application fee??? I have a receipt for the payment so I am now panicking that the committee didn't review my application because of this error. I emailed the school to sort it out but I'm afraid it is too late. Ugh!!!

Haha I think that is!  My other friends who applied also haven't heard anything so I'm going to say it's good no ones heard!  I believe we do use the admissions website!  I haven't seen anywhere else to look and I figured we'd just get an email from them!

What's the admission website? The one where I filled out additional application to USF or CSDCAS? It's an agony to wait around like this.... I am hoping I hear something by the end of this week!

Hey! Was the process to apply for American schools a lot different from applying to Canadian programs? I applied to UBC and Dalhousie this year, but if I don't get in, I may consider applying for the American programs.

It was pretty similar. I used a portal and only applied to the schools which participated because I could send transcripts only once to the portal (some universities request originals after you get admitted). Most schools want you to fill out extra app on their website and pay a separate fee but it was not too complicated and fees were pretty low. I paid between $35 and $105.

I feel like American schools are more open-minded. If you are a non-traditional applicant like me, you might have a better shot with American schools. I attended a graduate certificate program and most American schools included it in GPA calculation and regarded my practicum experience very relevant. That's probably why I have been accepted to three schools so far. I'm waiting to hear from two more schools and I am happy that I can actually get to choose where to attend. A caveat is American schools are much more expensive than Canadian ones so you'll incur more student debt. If you have any other questions, let me know.

@MBLBPB  I'm still waiting for USF as well!  I have not heard anything since submitting my application as well.  Let me know if you hear something! :)

It's good(?) that I'm not the only one that hasn't heard from USF but bad that we both are still waiting. Btw, are we supposed to check out status on their admission website? I have not yet figured out what to do with my "USF ID". LOL!

  15. Hey! Somehow no onen has replied to this thread. I'll be the first one to break the silence.

I applied to UBC and UWO for 2019 cycle. It's my second time applying. I was waitlisted for both schools back in 2015. I am a so called "non-traditional" applicant and it's been a journey! I have a bachelor's in Spanish and taught adult before I decided to change my career. I applied to several American schools this time and got accepted to two programs so far so I'm hoping I'll have better luck with the Canadian schools this time around.

  16. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from either U of South Florida or Louisiana State University? I think USF sent out acceptance letters the first week of March last year. I haven't heard anything from USF since the deadline and nothing at all from LSU ever. I'm dying to know!

Also, anyone who got accepted to Buffalo University received funding? I emailed them bit haven't got an answer...

    Thanks everyone!

  17. I received an email from Syracuse University this afternoon with great news! I I almost screamed at work (my work doesn't know I applied to grad schools). I am so overjoyed and I can't stop smiling! I wish you the best of luck if you're about to check your email.

Is it bad that I’m somewhat disappointed.... I thought that I had passed some sort of initial stage to get interviewed but apparently not ?

Ha! When I was offered an invitation to an interview last week, they were only offering Tuesdays and Fridays.  UOP gives admission to 20 to 22 applicants so maybe it makes sense to interview at least double that number? Stay positive! Even if it is not for selected few, at least you still have an equal chance as everyone else. You've lost nothing.

Hey! When did you get an interview for U of P? I thought all of the interviews were being conducted on Wednesday and Thursday

Btw, did you have an interview with U of P? If you don't mind me asking, how was it? What kind of questions were asked? I hope they don't ask why my GRE is so low because I don't know! LOL!

It's scheduled this Friday. I chose the lastest slot because I have a full time job and that way I won't have to take too many hours off work. There were some slots available on Tuesday as well. They are interviewing at least 24 according to my calculation. ?
