  1. Ah man, that publication bit does sting. I was kicking myself because, since submitting the NSF app, I've had 2 publications come out that I'm lead author on. I was thinking the next time I apply (since I'm currently an undergrad) that I'd have that get me across the finish line, but maybe not huh. Regardless of what the academic elitists say, you seem like a phenomenal professional and researcher with all that work!
  2. Congrats to the people who got it! Didn't work out for me, but definitely going to try again!
  3. scchurt, imma need you to take that negative energy and make it positive by repressing any recognition of reality
  4. 2am eastern tomorrow, so yeah Tuesday. T-minus 10 hours!
  5. They'll probably be out at 2am tomorrow
  6. AHHHHHHHHHHH This gonna be such a weight off my shoulders. I have a research presentation tomorrow though so I'm going to be a little distracted regardless of the results lol
  7. That would break the Tuesday/Friday tradition, though. Unless they plan on uploading as soon as they're able, I would think we'd find out Friday at the earliest.
  8. This just means NSF took away the awards of everyone last year too just to spite them.
  9. Well guys, I'll check back in this time next Monday I guess. See you all in a week!
  10. Phenomenal. Do you think we should we expect a month delay then?
  11. I doubt if they'd tell us. In last year's thread, someone called the day before results went out and got the same "early April" response.
  12. Doesn't seem like there's any way to know when they'll even put the maintenance update notification up either. Last year it went up around 14 hours before the site maintenance, 2017 it went up 30 hours before the site maintenance, and in 2016 it went up about 15 hours before the site maintenance.
  13. Not sure if this will help anyone in any way, but just so you know.
  14. Well if we've learned anything so far in this forum, it's that we've learned nothing about how this review process actually played out.
  15. The way I look at it, no one is getting it because it's the freaking NSF-GRFP. We all put down amazing applications, though. It's a crap shoot! No need to freak out!
  16. I've heard the same thing about conference calls being cancelled, but I was also told that NSF was pushing for no delay. What exactly they see as a delay is up in the air. They might see being 1 month late as a delay but not 1 week late. Who knows! Regardless, I have a feeling this year is going to be a mess. A few professors who have reviewed for NSF in the past have talked a lot about how some applicants don't get selected simply because no one advocates for them in the panels, even if everyone liked the proposal. We might not be getting the benefit of one of our reviewers standing up for us.
  17. If this goes anything like previous years, the site won't just go down without warning. There should be a little message somewhere saying in a few hours the site will go down.
  18. I think this might be an invalid link - how are you getting to that page? https://www.research.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=loadAwardeeList This should take you to the same place and it works fine for me.
  19. I'm checking two places: recent advisories and research.gov, where you log into your fastlane account. Not sure where the update will be announced, but I figure it'll pop up at one of these places. https://fastlane.nsf.gov/fastlane.jsp?t=1 https://www.research.gov/grfp/Login.do Anyone have other ideas for where it might be posted?
  20. Everything I've seen about previous years indicates a maintenance period immediately precedes posting of the results. It could certainly be changed up this year, but I don't know why they'd update the site with the results but not release them. I'd bet that last update was just structurally preparing the website for the upload.
  21. No maintenance notification on the fastlane website so far, and last year that went up around 10am EST the day before results were posted. Based on that, it doesn't look like they're coming tomorrow. Who knows though!
  22. I swear the stuff you guys are doing is just insane. All my work is basically "lol where are the fluffy animals????" meanwhile you guys are saving lives and improving the world hahaha
  23. Oh boy, that sounds super fancy! Important work for sure! So is the idea that you could fix broken bones with this material and it would degrade after it's healed?
  24. Okay so I'm starting to get a bit neurotic with refreshing the fastlane website for that maintenance update, so I need a distraction. This whole thing is about celebrating creative people and creative ideas, so let's do that before our ideas are assigned a monetary value (or the lack thereof)! SO, what were everyone's proposals on? Or if you know you'll be doing a different project than what you applied with, what is that? I applied with a project looking at how European Mennonite communities may affect jaguar habitat use, but I'll actually be using the NSF funding for brown bear - black bear spatial interactions!
