I just don’t Understand why they would lie about the decisions being made starting first week of April if all the initial decisions had already been sent out when they posted that update. It’s really odd. Lol.
-
Other than historic dates is there another reason it is on a Tuesday or Friday?

Oh perfect. Thank you! Hopefully the would not have posted that announcement if all the offers had already been made.

"National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship
This application is for the 2019 class for the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Program.
Update: April 2, 2019
Notifications for awards of the NDSEG Fellowship for the 2019 class will start the first week in April. Anyone who was not selected will receive notification following award acceptance from those selected. We anticipate the status of all applications by the end of April.
The email address used to create and log into this account will receive the status updates."
Did you guys see this in the portal? To me, it definitely seems like not even the entirety of the "first wave" even went out yet...
See my application
Where did you find this? I can't seem to find it...

They used to have this data available, but it has been absent from their website for the last decade. You can see the 2008 cycle here: https://slideplayer.com/slide/1426742/
and up to 2004 cycle here: https://web.archive.org/web/20041207031455/www.ehr.nsf.gov/dge/programs/grf/grfstat.asp
Ooh thank you very much. I appreciate it.

I thought that too, but it seems that one of the links from the GRFP homepage is just down.
Here is the link to the award list that I am able to see.

When I enter this https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=loadAwardeeList I get an error message.
Of course, I'm hoping that means they're uploading 2019 awardees right now.
Check the link above. We thought this yesterday but unfortunately it is just a broken link

Not to add any stress, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the number of awards is lower this year than in previous years. Apparently they are only offering 1500 awards as opposed to 2000. I'm upset because we have a lesser chance of winning.
Bummer ?

They mostly try to keep you within larger discipline, but you aren't guaranteed smaller discipline. An applied mathematician might have pure mathematicians reading their proposal, but they shouldn't have, say, biologists reading it.
Awesome. Thank you!

Does anyone know if people only in your area read the application or do people from similar areas as well? For example, will an applied math application be considered by applied math and pure math people? Or similar situations as that.

I think this might be an invalid link - how are you getting to that page?
https://www.research.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=loadAwardeeList
This should take you to the same place and it works fine for me.
I was getting to it via a google search... The link you have is working for me. Darn! haha

Yea, I called and was told that they send notifications as the come in from DoD groups. Some will hear sooner than later. They don’t wait to send them all out at once like other fellowships.
Thank you for doing this. Maybe all hope isn't lost then! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us who haven't heard.

I got an e-mail just after 3pm that I got the fellowship! No idea how they're sending it out—if it's by office or all at once.
Does anyone know if the NDSEG has any subject requirement? Is it like NSF where it's about the person not the specific project proposed? Or by accepting are you bound to do exactly what you outlined?
Wow congratulations! I hope to hear soon for my proposal. Keeping my fingers crossed!
