  1. Not funded, here, with committee 2A. I was ranked 27 out of 70. Congrats to everyone who was funded!
  2. Still no results here. I'm literally sitting here with the SSHRC Extranet open in one tab, and a job offer (not yet signed and accepted) open in another tab. C'mon!
  3. This would make sense. My proposed postdoc was also supposed to be primarily remote (travelling the 5 hours to the University of Ottawa a couple times a month) and I don't think that would have been an option pre-COVID. Many people who were not open to remote research/collaboration are much more open to it now, in my experience, which made this particular postdoc possible for me.
  4. That's really frustrating and I'm sorry. Were there significantly more applications this year for your committee? I would be disheartened, as well.
  5. After all this, I think I'm out. A really good written offer for an industry job (related to my larger research area, and writing-focused) just showed up in my inbox. I was really hoping that this company moved slower, or that SSHRC moved faster, so that I could have all data before I made a decision, but I don't think I can turn this down, even for my dream postdoc. As an aside, I am pretty limited geographically to my mid-sized Ontario city and the area around it, so a tenure-track position in the future is a VERY remote possibility for me. Good luck, everyone!
  6. I was having the same issue yesterday, but hitting refresh on the page would load the actual page. Does that work for you?
  7. Yes, I also assume that they will just be uploading PDF versions of the letter they would normally print and mail out to applicants. I received the SSHRC doctoral fellowship in 2018 and received a 3-4 page letter in the mail that included all of my scores and funding details, along with instructions on how to accept the fellowship. I'm glad we don't have to wait for the physical letter this year, given the slowness of Canada Post in Canada with the pandemic.
  8. I'm going to assume at this point that the "folder creation" job was given to multiple people, who are moving through their stacks of names at different paces, and that this is all just random data entry. ?
  9. I'm just going to drive myself nuts here. I lecture (virtually) in an hour and a half so I'm basically just killing time, hitting refresh on something that probably won't be updated until late Friday afternoon...
  10. I'm a "Mc" last name, so right near the middle. Just for one more data point. I also submitted to Committee 2, if that makes any difference at all.
  11. All I can see when I log on to the Extranet is that a folder was created under my name at 9:10 this morning, but the folder is currently empty. This is definitely going to drive me extra crazy this week.
  12. Ohhh, mine came a few minutes later but I didn't notice as it was threaded in Gmail. Thanks for the heads up! It sounds like we should all have news soon-ish, but I know I'm going to be checking the Extranet every 30 seconds all week!
  13. I just got an email with a password, but no username (it says in the password email that I should have already received it...) but I'm assuming we're all in the "this'll get sorted out at some point this week" stage of results... I've already sort of entered into Plan B. I have been applying for technical writing jobs and had an interview (that I think went well) last week. I'm hoping for SSHRC results earlier in the week rather than later, because I will proceed with my postdoc plans if it pans out, but am fully prepared to move into industry if it doesn't. I defended in September and have been teaching remotely as a sessional instructor since then, and this is really soul-sucking, honestly. I know things should be better for the 2021/22 academic year, but I'm ready to jump ship, already, despite already having teaching contracts lined up for next year.
  14. Alright, I'm in for the wait. I defended last Tuesday (accepted with no revisions!!!) and applied for the SSHRC Postdoc (committee 2 - history) the same day. Keeping my fingers crossed, but it's my first shot at this one (I did receive a SSHRC doctoral fellowship on my third try) so I'm cautious. Good luck and happy waiting, everyone!
  15. Oh no!!!! Glad that you caught it! I'm sure the neighbour would have brought it over, but it's good that you noticed right away! Mine finally arrived today! Score of 18.3, but I'm past 16 months in so no Bombardier for me. STILL, THRILLED. Our department had three people receive SSHRC this year and our average is 0-1 so apparently it's a good year for us. Also, I received 24 months of funding despite stating that I was on track to complete my PhD in the summer of 2020 (our department only gives us four years of funding, so completing within four years is the goal) so I need to sort all that out. I assume it means adjusting my plans for when I would defend?
  16. Anyone else in Ontario still waiting on the results in the mail? I already received an email from my university stating that I got the doctoral fellowship, but I'm still twitchy until I have the actual results in hand.
  17. I miss the grad club so much. I'm at UW for my PhD and the Grad House is a very poor substitute.
  18. Congratulations!!!! I just wanted to say that this echos my own experience. My project has not changed at all over the last three years, but it went from "I'm going to do this" to "I have learned how to do this and am currently in the process of doing it." I think that made a lot of difference as far as how it was communicated to a general audience and improved the perceived feasibility.
  19. CONGRATULATIONS! I got the same email!!! After two years of rejections, I'm in shock!
  20. Good to have some confirmation. Thanks!
  21. Anyone heard from UWaterloo yet? I just talked to the other person from our department who was sent out nationally and she hasn't heard anything either. So either we're both out or nothing yet. ?
  22. I'm joining in here on the agonized waiting, because clearly writing is not happening today. I "officially" have another year and a bit left of my PhD but my goal is to have a rough draft of my dissertation done in the fall and to defend next summer. I've had two SSHRC rejections (at the university level) already and so am already living my Plan B at this point, but getting SSHRC would definitely open up my options for my last year and allow me to do more conferences, etc. because I'd only have to TA one term next year. On a practical level, it'll really change nothing about what I'm doing at this point if I DON'T get it, but it could change a lot if I DO. This is the first time I've actually been sent out from my university and I was ranked first in my department, but we're a small department so I know that that means very little once it gets to the national competition. Anyway, just holding my breath this week (while TRYING to actually MAYBE get this chapter finished as planned????) with the rest of you. ?
