I reached out to the contact person for my subfield in my BAA, and I hope they have some information on when we should expect to hear back. If you haven't, perhaps contact them. They could have some useful information, since Sysplus has not said anything very concrete.

Interesting nobody who applied to AFOSR had an update past December. As I was saying before, speculation is useless since there's a ton of confounding factors such as the BAA and agency. Let's just sit tight for this week

I feel like it doesn't make sense to speculate, we're just giving ourselves a headache over dates which we don't know anything about. I think decisions will come out soon and we'll be able to know then.

i honestly don't think the date means anything --- when I called they said that date was something from Sysplus' end and not the DOD. Also considering that the acceptance rate is like 5%, look at the percentage of January/February dates vs December. Yeah sure, GradCafe is self-selecting, so the proportion of winners to not-winners is higher than 5%, but the split between Jan/Feb and Dec is roughly 50/50. So it might just mean nothing. What's interesting is the Powerpoint though --- it says decisions are announced on March 20th? Really weird, since we're past that and we haven't heard anything.

Does anybody know anything about the typical acceptance rate / # of applicants for the NDSEG?

Interesting the Air Force updates are all in December. Man, I'm not excited for the wait...I hope these results come out this week and not April 15th

What's your field of study? Also they called back and said not to worry about the date and that 'everybody' is still in the running. I'll trust them on this.

I'm applying to physics under an Air Force BAA, last updated 12/24. Also, has anybody been able to reach sysplus about a more specific decision date? Everytime I call they say they'll just call me back and I don't hear back.

Two years ago was a different contractor, so I wouldn't put too much stock into what they did, I think Sysplus is pretty organized relative to the others that ran it in previous years

Ah OK, makes sense. I don't think that's the case --- I emailed one of the administrators in early March and he said that in March, apps go to the DoD selection panel, which finishes evaluating the applications in April, so the actual decisions aren't made until then (aka early April). Since we're in such limbo, I emailed the administrator to see when exactly we should hear back.

Also interestingly, a previous poster reached out to the NDSEG and they said the following: "The validation process is complete, and all validated applications have been forwarded to the panel. You won't see any additional status updates beyond 'Submitted' on the application until the selection is made in April 2020, at which time all applicants will receive a notification of their selection status." Hmm, I wonder if we're just reading too deeply into the dates?

Mine was last updated on 12/24, but in my app it still shows "Under Evaluation." Out of curiosity, what year are y'all? I'm a senior undergraduate!
