  1. No Structures MS funding for me: Stanford, Cal, or UCLA Attending Stanford over Cal: ~ 12 quarter classes vs 8 semester classes (more variety); no comprehensive; location; option to transition to PhD
  2. Thanks, I was a bit concerned that my GRE scores would be too low for Cal, or Stanford. At this point, I plan to pick Stanford. I like: that the quarter system will allow for more classes (at Cal the program in eight classes, at Stanford I'll take 12 - 15 classes), and I like that Stanford doesn't require a comp exam. At Stanford, I will also have the chance to transition to a PhD (if the mood strikes me). All three are great options, Cal offered no funding, UCLA (no word on funding), if I get any funding from Stanford it will be gravy. When planing my options I picked UCLA over UCSD due to location (course content at UCSD might have been a better fit).
  3. Yay, accepted UCLA Masters (no word on funding): three for three. No word yet from Stanford on funding. Stanford | Cal | UCLA Applied (3) | Accepted (3) | Interview (0) | Waitlisted (0) | Rejected (0)
  4. Stanford had a virtual visit day (that was recorded). Professor Billington led the Structures break-out session (she forgot to select the record button). It was mentioned that Stanford funding decisions might happen this week (I don't have high expectations). I was also accepted to Cal (no funding) - if they hold a virtual visit day, I'll attend. Stanford | Cal | UCLA Applied (3) | Accepted (2) | Interview (0) | Waitlisted (0) | Rejected (0)
  5. Accepted to Cal, MS, Structures, no funding.
  6. Stanford visit day cancelled (I’m through airport security). Heading to the Farm anyway. This blows! Anyone else going? Got recommendations for a freelance visit? I will probably look to visit with the advisor.
  7. Yes, got an e-mail yesterday from Stanford (to check application status). Got in for the MS - sweet! Sorry, no news on PhD. Any financial aid will be communicated near the end of March. Not sure if accepting will reduce any chance of funding (not expecting any, but hey). Cal & UCLA to go. When I visited Cal the advisor lamented that the students that were accepted by Stanford, typically passed on Cal.
  8. Accepted by Stanford today - first choice, stoked. 154/158, 3.87 Stanford | Cal | UCLA Applied (3) | Accepted (1) | Interview (0) | Waitlisted (0) | Rejected (0)
  9. Sorry if this has been posted prior, but my guess is the earliest we will here from Stanford (Structural MS) would be at the end of this week (2/14)? Just to jinx it, I booked travel for visit day (3/6). Has anyone taken the time to determine the typical decision dates (the more the merrier)? If so, please feel free to share. Good luck to all. Stanford | Cal | UCLA Applied (3) | Accepted (0) | Interview (0) | Waitlisted (0) | Rejected (0)
  10. yinxisang, or others in the know: I gather the Stanford CEE open house will be 3/6, will most acceptances be communicated prior to the open house?
