  1. I broke down and emailed them (and Northwestern) today. Haven’t heard anything. I’ll keep you posted if I do, though. My Brooklyn portal says my application is still “in review.” ?
  2. Hey, y’all. I received a very nice rejection from Christine Scarfuto at Hunter yesterday. I’m in limbo with Northwestern. Didn’t receive a waitlist email last night, but haven’t gotten an acceptance or rejection. If anyone has any additional info that would be super helpful. Also, has anyone received a waitlist or rejection email from Brooklyn? I saw that some people received acceptance notifications on Monday but I haven’t gotten anything. The anticipation is killing me. ?
  3. Hey everyone. I’ve been staying away from GradCafe this year bc ✨mental health✨ Just thought I’d pop in and share where I’m at in the process. This is my second year applying. Carnegie Mellon - waitlisted with no interview (I interviewed there last year and was waitlisted after) Northwestern - Interviewed on 2/26. No word yet. UCSD - Nicely rejected by Naomi Iizuka personally and received several automated rejections. Brown - Rejected Hunter - Radio silence (assuming a no) Brooklyn - Radio silence Hope everyone is hanging in there!
  4. Not sure if anyone else is in the same boat, but U Texas hadn't updated my portal for T&D. I had figured I was rejected, but had to email them to receive confirmation. I ultimately heard from Dr. Andy Grapko who is their graduate coordinator - in case anyone had been looking for a point person!
  5. Same for me...I followed with a quick “please disregard my previous email” ? currently out of the running at Yale and Texas, waitlisted at CMU. Best of luck to everyone still waiting! If anything, this has been a good exercise in how to approach this processes again next year. Relentless optimism is all I’m allowing for myself rn ?
  6. Waitlisted at CMU. Haven't received anything from Yale ? ugh just want answers
  7. Ugh same. Rejected by Michener, "In review" with T&D
  8. Nothing from UT Austin Michener or T&D CMU peeps: Just had my interview with Rob (Melissa was sick). He also didn't ask me the prompt question but I felt like it went super well otherwise so I think we can all relax haha.
  9. Thank you! Still nothing from UT or Yale for me. Just waiting on those
  10. Just got the email from CMU - I got an interview! Anyone else hear anything?
  11. Nothing for me from CMU. But they did wait until like 6:30 to tell us they were pushing it back last time. Also going to assume I’m out of the running for Texas, I applied to both as well. A little relieved though! The not knowing is worse than rejection for me at this point.
  12. I went all the way back and people received notification from Yale on February 13th last year. Also, UTA (T&D I believe) sent semifinalist interview requests on February 4th last year so hopefully they're on the same schedule this year.
  13. @Sylvia Zhou I was really thinking they'd send it today since Mica told you so recently that we'd hear by tomorrow.
  14. i am glad i wasn't the first to break lol ? nothing. driving me crazy.
  15. it is weird but we're def in the clear. there isn't a portal on their website. the next 3 days are going to be torture ?
  16. do you think we'll solely find out via GradCAS or via email as well??
  17. def interested if any veterans are out there!
  18. When I visited CMU in August, the graduate admissions director told me they get 10. Which seems crazy to me
  19. I didn't get anything about an extension ?hope it's bc i had everything in ?
  20. Whoa this forum really popped off in my brief time away lol. @jck349 @SuddenBeth Yay fellow CMU applicants! I grew up in Pittsburgh (been in NYC since 2014) so hmu with any q's about the Pittsburgh area ☺️ I did recently stay up till 3am lurking through several years of this forum to determine generally when we'll start to hear things. Looks like UT Austin T&D starts reaching out for interviews in the beginning of Feb. Yale has been 2nd-3rd weeks of Feb for decisions but also saw mid-March at one point so *shrug* ? UT Michener also seems to announce interviews the first week of Feb but waits till mid-March to notify of decisions. CMU applicants have been scarce the last few years so I can't say definitively what their timeline is like but I saw one instance of a decision coming in the first week of April. ?Obvs these are just observations but it's a little more comforting than having 0 idea of what to expect.
  21. Well now in early January feeling tense ?Wondering if more of us will come out of the woodwork? How are you doing?
  22. Hey there. First time poster/applicant here, as well. I got a little over-caffeinated a few weeks ago and submitted everything in one day. Now I'm anxiously trying to get my recommenders to put some speed on their submissions. I am also applying to Austin (Michener), CMU, and Yale. Potentially Brooklyn College but still feeling it out. I feel like resumes are extremely flexible - when I look at the profiles of recent alums/students in these programs, they're mostly people coming out of academic settings. I'm obviously no expert, but as long as you feel like it reflects the work that has actually been impactful to you and isn't just long for the sake of being long, it's probably fine :)
