  1. Would anyone be willing to help review my personal history statement? It's about graduating in two years and finding the motivation that keeps myself going (but has some slightly scattered topics of financial need, being displaced due to a flood). I'm worried that the focus isn't clear enough and the language needs improvement (less trite, more illustrative) Please comment and I'll PM if you're willing to help, thanks!
  2. Would appreciate if someone could give my essay a review and some constructive criticism, particularly with focus and improving language. Please comment and I will PM you if you are willing to help, thanks in advance!
  3. I got a 164/161: Q/V which is acceptable but only a 3 on the Writing section. Is this something that they would see as a red flag since this does tie into academic writing?
  4. How does one go about explaining a (slightly) worse academic performance due to an emergency? I accidentally flooded my dorm one quarter (long story) and received a 3.3 (which is satisfactory by all means but does stand out compared to my other terms). I've got a simple draft ready if anyone would be willing to review it but am looking for general advice.
  5. Is it acceptable to list footnotes for article titles at the bottom on one's SOP? I refer to two articles with short-hand names since the articles titles are rather verbose and prohibitively long and only mention both once. Currently, I have markers, that correspond to ACM citations of the articles but wonder if it would be better to mention them: a. inline with full name b. inline with short name, and assume the reader will know what I'm talking about c. inline with footnote Anyone know best practice here?
