I’m going crazy checking my email every day because it seemed last year you all got emails back within January! i have 4.5 years as a Mental health psych tech/crisis line operator and 5 years of case management- 3 in mental health and 2 in homelessness (currently working in homelessness sector now). I got my degree in psych and my cumulative GPA is 3.0 and my last 60 credits is 3.6. I feel pretty confident in my experience but I waver between confident and absolutely feeling not qualified enough yet lol. what are some questions you recommend asking in the interview?

I’m applying to MSW program at CSUN. It’s my first time applying in over 5 years since my first rejection at Hunter NYC. I only applied to one school and I’m super nervous about it haha. I have a good GPA, 3 LOR’s from LCSWS, and 9.5 years of working in social work jobs- mental health and homeless shelter (5 years as a case worker, 4.5 psych tech). I’ve pretty much only worked in social work since I was 18. I’m applying as out of state as I’m currently in Utah and trying to move to LA to be closer to my partner. I feel confident in my stats but I’m also super anxious about it too! good luck to everyone!

That’s so kind of you! what were your stats applying? When did you apply, hear about an interview, and hear about acceptance? How was the interview itself?

Agreed! I turned mine in very early and it hasn’t given me a leg up at all lol! Good luck to you! Are you applying online or on campus? Hopefully we will both be accepted and future cohort

Ahhh! Glad Im not alone in the anxiety! In stalking last years posts(And a fb group Im on), a lot of people got notified of interviews during this week last year. I submitted my app 11/27 so I’m hoping I hear soon! My poor email inbox can’t take this much refreshing lol

Hey all! Just wondering who else has applied to CSUN for fall 2020? I applied on 11/25 and anxiously check my email every day ?. It’s my top choice and I’m super anxious but I also feel confident in my school and work history. I’ve only ever been employed in social work so I have almost 10 years experience and a degree in psych. anyone else?

Ahh! Congrats on the apps! Good luck!! That's so many, I feel super limited. I'm applying to CSU-Northridge and also University of Utah. I've submitted my app for CSUN and still working on my U of U one. Nervous and anxiously watching my emails about CSUN, it's my top priority as my partner lives in LA area and I'm trying to be closer. I have almost 10 years of social work related professional work experience (mental health & homelessness agencies), I'm hoping that help me out!
