I heard back yesterday and I was accepted!

Hey! I applied to PSU for their part time program, I live in NY but I fell in love with Oregon. Since I am not from Oregon I did not realize it was so competitive. I vaguely remember reading something that they accept 1 of every 3 applicants? I applied to MSU Denver as well. I am waiting to hear back from Portland and Denver, I hate that they let us know so late! I found out from two schools in NY in January!

yes!! I applied to PSU MSW program and should hopefully be hearing back this month. I live in NY, would love to talk to someone about what it is like to live in Oregon. Do you check your messages on here often? I also can do email. Whatever works

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!!! CU is an amazing program! I got into Stony Brook University today! :)))) My top choice in state. I will hear back from out of state schools next Monday/March

Hey! I know exactly how you feel in regards to moving across the country for school. I live in NY and my top two choices are Portland State University in Oregon and MSU Denver in Colorado. I applied to two schools in NY as well. I applied for part time though so I wouldn't start until mid/late August. I have the same fears about moving away from friends and hearing back late/having to decide on short notice. We just have to hope for the best! Do you know when the schools notify you? Good luck!!

Oh okay! I applied for the part time program and for the Stony Brook Campus. I am not too sure what the case is for the Manhattan campus. Maybe email someone and ask? Good luck!!

Hey I applied to their MSW program too!! I applied for their part time program. I think it said we should hear back 6-8 after the deadline date which was 1/2/2020. Good luck!!

I applied to SBU back in October as well! They said they were going to start reviewing applications after the New Year so I am guessing that they are starting to look at them now! Good luck Did you apply to the full time or part time program?

Thank you! I submitted my application for Portland State University tonight so one less school to work on for now. I agree, MSW programs are not as competitive as other programs. It Is still stressful because you know more than enough qualified students apply, but they can't accept everyone.

Wow that is a big career change for sure! I am not familiar from the NJ area, all I know is that it can be cheaper to live in that NY. My cousin lives in Chicago and loves it, I don't picture him leaving ever! I did see that someone responded to your questions about living there so I hope that was helpful. I actually want to leave the east coast so that's why I am applying to 3 out of state schools

Hi everyone! I’m also applying to MSW programs for fall 2020. I have been out of school for about 3 years. Here is my list. If anyone is from the area/applying to these schools lmk :) the worst part is waiting!! I probably won’t know until late March/early April Stony Brook University- submitted 10/26 this is my top choice in state (NY) SUNY Albany- submitted early November SUNY Buffalo- working on the application Portland State University- working on the essay MSU Denver- working on the essay (top choice out of state) UTSA- have not started the application since their deadline is in April Good luck everyone!
