  1. Part of me is definitely hoping they haven't sent out all of the offers since only rejections for the PhD have been posted and acceptances for the MA. But I'm aware I could also be fooling myself. I also have no idea when my other school will come in since there's no historical pattern with their results. This is all good practice for future applications for funding, jobs and waiting for results I suppose (I'm just impatient lol).
  2. Interesting. I’m probably going to wait another week or two and then contact them. If you do contact them, would you mind letting me know what they say?
  3. Got the rejection I was expecting from Georgetown yesterday. Still no word from my others. @span59 did you hear from Illinois? I noticed people have posted an acceptance and a rejection in the last couple of days so I’m assuming I’m waitlisted at this point (I just wish they would tell me this).
  4. I applied for the linguistics track but at U of Arizona not at ASU. I also looked at ASU and that looked like another great program - I almost applied to both but funds meant I could only to one and I felt I would be a slightly better felt at U of Arizona. I’m sure you’ll be hearing good news from them soon @Ms. Ana! Also - thanks for that info. Arizona and Illinois are my top two choices out of the four I’ve applied to. I always felt Georgetown was a bit of a reach. Not so sure about OSU - there’s no pattern in the results history about when they release decisions. Just wait and see.
  5. UIUC says on their website decisions should be made by Feb 15th. I applied for the Hispanic linguistics program too!
  6. Hey everyone, I'm so pleased to see so many people getting acceptances and I really feel for those who haven't heard back yet or only have heard rejections so far. Remember it's still early days! Just thought I'd give a quick update - I've been accepted into Arizona which I'm thrilled about. However, I've not heard back from Georgetown and I can see that acceptances have been sent out there so I'm assuming the worst. Still radio silence from OSU and UIUC. UIUC's website says that decisions should hopefully be made by Feb 15th so that's keeping me a little bit saner with the waiting.
  7. @senorbrightside I’m really sorry to hear that. All rejections are tough to process especially from a department where you already know the professors. Did they give you any feedback to explain the decision? You could always use that if you were to go for any other programs. I’m still in limbo it seems then. Hopefully I’ll take this as neither an acceptance or a rejection and see if they contact me in January/February (OSU had a similar deadline and normally make decisions around then it seems). @SlyManuel - I’ve not looked into the Rutgers program. Will have a look now. Always best to be prepared for any eventuality. Thanks for the pointer.
  8. Hey all, I thought I would finally introduce myself after longtime lurking. I’ve applied to four PhD programs in Spanish linguistics (OSU, UIUC, Arizona and Georgetown). My main focus is less common still: Spanish in the US so I haven’t applied to as many programs as I’m sure others will have. My main query is mainly about UIUC - I’ve noticed from the results search that they’ve historically released results the past two years this week. Does anyone know if they have released any results (even for internal candidates)? Or have they been delayed until after the holidays this year? I’m aware it’s still VERY early days but Illinois historically always seems to be the first to make their decisions.
