  1. Hello everyone, I am in the biostats MS program in my dream school and due to online learning I am not keeping up with my academic performance and am considering p/f a core class (Probability 1) that is in the core PhD curriculum of the school. My question is how bad would this look if I want to apply for my school's PhD program after my MS degree. Would COVID be able to take some of that sting off of p/f-ing a core class? For context, I am also an international student so the chances are already tough.. And if I continue with the course I am likely to get something like a B+ which will really impact my GPA. Any advice is appreciated!! Thanks!
  2. It looked like in previous years if someone hasn't heard back on the day they sent out invites, they are typically rejected right? Are there actually people who receive invites after the first wave of invites?
  3. Yes, I was told that my department runs things a little differently. Apparently they had nominated candidates without an interview or an offer, but then they wait until more applications after the funding deadline come in, and then interview and make offer altogether. It's a little strange but I guess it meant the interviews for the nominated candidates would be more of a formality. I have no ideas whether I was nominated or not however. Do you know when the Gates interview invites are going to be out? It seems like historically the invites come earlier than the rejections.
  4. Any international applicant heard back from their department yet? I applied by the Jan 7th deadline and my program requires an interview. However my app status has been stuck in "submitted" ever since. Is anyone seeing the same thing? I assume if I don't hear back about an acceptance before the trust starts shortlisting in mid-Feb, that automatically means it's been rejected?
  5. Hello Everyone, I am a recent ucberkeley graduate and am considering to apply for a master in human rights and humanitarian actions in sciences po. Can anyone who attended this school share their experience with PSIA? I have heard mixed opinions about this school and want to confirm a few. 1. I have heard how professors in sciences po have very limited interactions with the students, most of them don't even have office hours. 2. I have heard that grading is highly arbitrary and therefore I imagine it's going to be very difficult to maintain a good grade (which will be a problem because I intend to come back to the U.S. PhD and gpa is a thing here) 3. I have heard that the class size is ridiculously large, altho coming from berkeley, where a typical class size is ~80-200 idk if I will find this problematic...but just how big are we talking about here..? 4. How is sciences po's prestige and reputation compared to top U.S. institutions? Any other major differences you found while you studied in sciences po? Anything suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank y'all!!
