Update: just received a rejection from Ryerson ...the applicant who received the first offer from my POI accepted so I'm no longer on the waitlist. A little disappointed but also glad to have found out sooner rather than later. I'm still waitlisted at one other school, but it's looking like I'm probably not getting in anywhere this year. I've started to accept it and I have a semi-plan for next year, but I'm mostly just dreading having to go through this horrible application process all over again ?

I was informed that my POI had forwarded my name as "one of their top picks" to the grad admissions committee. They also said that they "fully expect to be able to offer a number of applicants on the waitlist spots in the program"

I was waitlisted as well. They informed me that there are 8 clinical spots

Could the person who posted in the results section that they were waitlisted by Ryerson please PM me their POI (if they feel comfortable)?? Thank you!

Congrats on getting the CGS-M Scholarship! I definitely agree with everyone else that you should inform the program admin/your POI I also wanted to ask if you were officially informed (either by the program admin or your POI) that you are on the waitlist? Or are you assuming that because you haven't received an offer? Just wondering because I am in the latter situation and wanted to know if anyone has actually been informed that they are on the waitlist. Thanks!

anyone else slowly losing all hope?? At this point it seems like I've been waitlisted at all the schools I interviewed at (one actually told me I've been waitlisted and the other two I'm assuming since others have heard back and I haven't). I know there's still a chance, but I'm definitely feeling a bit disheartened.... I'm struggling a bit with the personal nature of the decisions - I know there's a lot of factors that go into it, but when a PI and/or committee is deciding between multiple students (especially for clinical), obviously there's a lot of personal factors that go into consideration.. anyone else struggling with this?

no it's not about acceptances, it's just another clinical interview (I think in my case in particular they wanted one more clinical prof to speak to me since I was applying to work with a non-clinical prof)

Based on the results page it looks like some got an offer from UTSC (not sure if they've finished sending out all 1st round offers yet though)

I just spoke to the program director and he said they will sending out the first round of offers within the next week

I mean it basically means waitlisted... alternate= second choice if someone declines an offer I guess I'm not feeling the disappointment yet because I'm still holding out hope for other places but I know there's still a chance I don't get in anywhere ?

Update on UVic: I believe the first round of offers have gone out (or will go out by the end of the week) I was waitlisted ? but the email I received from my POI was encouraging ("very high on the list of alternates") - so we'll see!

also just saw someone posted in the results section that they got an offer from UVic yesterday - whoever that is, would you mind messaging me your POI?? Thanks! (and congrats!!!!)

I emailed the grad secretary on Thursday and she said they would begin sending out offers within the next week

Has anyone received a CN invite for the York open house? Or heard anything from a POI in the CN stream? Thanks!

oh also I just remembered that not all profs from Ryerson participate in the open house, so there's still a chance there

UTSC open house already happened and Ryerson invites already went out. York invites have started going on and might still be going out. But yes, still possible (but unlikely) you could get an interview/get in without an open house/interview day invite

Also for anyone who applied to Ryerson and didn't receive an interview/Visiting Day invite, don't lose hope! I have been informed that "some faculty members are not able to participate in Visiting Day, and are conducting separate interviews. As a result, not all short-listed applicants are being invited to the Visiting Day."

Not that I know anything for sure, but I'm not worried that I haven't heard from York yet. I know there were people last year who didn't hear from POIs about setting about Skype meetings until the end of January... I wouldn't start to worry until like early February. But idk maybe someone on here knows more than I do!

ok so I've heard from several people that Concordia has an open house day on Jan 30th or 31st (and that invites have already been sent out) but that that is only for POIs from a specific research centre. Could someone please tell me which research centre that is referring to? Trying to figure out if I still have a chance
