Finally got acceptance letter from Drexel for the Information Science PhD. I was sure it was going to be a NO after all this time of waiting since I had heard nothing else. This is my second attempt getting into this program so feeling pretty happy.

I have applied to DS Masters in various universities but just got an acceptance from UPenn till now. Eagerly waiting for results from CMU, UMich, Columbia and ETH. Wouls love to hear if anyone of you has got any notification from these universities. Best of luck to everyone

Thank you, all the best to you as well! I major in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a double major in math. I did research related to machine learning, so I guess I have some experience. I feel like data science is a very interdisciplinary field. For my graduate study I want to combine both theory and application

Didn't received offer from Drexel, but I just got an email from another professor that I didn't mentioned in the personal statement asking if I am interested in working with him. I guess Drexel put me in the waitlist. 

And just got the official offer letter! Stipend is 26k and have to let them know by 4/10

Thanks, I don't know yet though if you had make me choose this moment, I would say UIUC because my probable future advisor reached out to me and has been very engaged in giving me information about the lab and the research and she is also very ope-minded about research ideas; so I think she might be a good match. Having said that, I am going to going learn more about the Penn State programs from students and faculty/
Thanks! It does feel good because I am moving between streams, and it is not even my first transition. So, I did not know whether I would make it. That way, I am really glad that I saved an year.

I got accepted into UIUC and Penn State's iSchools so far for the Information Science PhD programs, and I have also interviewed with Syracuse but am yet to get the result. While, there are still schools I am yet to hear from, I do know that I am going somewhere this year.
