  1. Has anyone applied to Bryn Mawr and gone through the interview process? I scheduled for the 20th and I'm a little nervous about it.
  2. So, how's everyone doing? Two and a half weeks left of February before March is here and decisions will come out. Did anyone decided to apply for a competitive field placement? I looked it over and I liked Seattle Indian Health Board but it sounds very, very similar to my current field placement. I also liked Evergreen College Counseling but I believe it said they're only taking clinical track students and I'm Admin and Policy Practice.
  3. I will be at a conference in Portland from the 1st-3rd so unfortunately not. I would have loved to though, my sister, BIL, and nieces are in Denver and it would’ve been so nice to see them ?
  4. I was notified yesterday that University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee's Helen Bader School of Social Work has submitted me to the Graduate School for their Advanced Opportunity Program Fellowship. The Graduate School will grant the AOP Fellowship to 30 students and I'll find out if I've been selected by mid-March. I'm so nervous and excited!
  5. I received the same. When I was first reading over it I thought they meant 11k per quarter but then my senses came back to me and reading comprehension returned.
  6. Accepted!
  7. What's the latest we think we can wait today before assuming acceptance emails aren't being sent out?
  8. Our Field Director runs the Field Program, we are such a small program that our field director takes on almost all of the tasks that a field liaison would have. We are a cohort of about 60 (Juniors, Seniors) about half the students commute from California, and the rest of us are in Arizona. The California students do have a "field education liaison" for their seminar sessions, while the students in Arizona have our sessions with the field director.
  9. Internship will be interesting today while I'm checking my phone every two minutes.
  10. I got it as well. I made an appointment with my field director to go over it and get her perspective on it. I think I’m just in my head about the logistics of it.
  11. Have fun at the event!
  12. I’ve been cleaning all day and just went out to get my nails done. I’ve been trying to not pay attention to my phone but I’m running out of things to do to keep busy.
  13. Well, this is stressful.
  14. After talking to an admissions counselor from Bryn Mawr back and forth for a few days, I ended up applying after she waived my admissions fee. When I was first looking for colleges in high school, I think I, like everyone else that had seen Mona Lisa Smile or read Sylvia Plath wanted to attend one of the Seven Sisters, then I realized how expensive they all were! I think it'll be something of an ego boost, to see if I am accepted or not. I think my soul would really love being on that wonderful campus though.
  15. Received an email late last night from UW Milwaukee to apply for the Advanced Opportunity Program Fellowship from the Graduate School at UWM. It's a huge package and I would be so grateful to receive it, especially to offset the cost of going out of state. Fingers crossed!
  16. I applied to three programs with Advanced Standing status, University of Washington University of Denver University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (I also withdrew my UT Austin application due to the pay disparities with Hispanic Tenured professors vs. white male tenured professors.) I believe I'll hear back from Denver first, followed by Milwaukee and Washington last with the March decision date. UW is my first choice followed by Denver, then Milwaukee. However with the high cost of living in Seattle, it might be more financially prudent to go to Denver (I have family there) or Milwaukee where housing is much more affordable.
  17. I applied to the 2020 advanced standing cohort as well. It seems so hard to believe they announce decisions in late March and then you start at the end of July. It seems like there's no time at all! UW is my first choice and I also applied to Denver and UWMilwaukee.
