    @hopefulmft @kittybugs

How did your interviews go??? if you want to share of course

and in case you see this before you had the interview good luck!!

Hi @dbrick! I would say the interview went rather well for me. I loved the format and the questions that were asked: it was fascinating to hear other applicants' stories. All of the interviewees were so qualified for the program! Also, the faculty members who interviewed us did an amazing job giving non-verbal positive reinforcement. That really helped me stay grounded.

I want to believe that I managed to show who I am and to share my passion for the field :)  Now I am trying to relax and NOT update my email every 3 seconds...

Ahh thanks for the response and thank you for being supportive!  I honestly didn't find any posts from anyone talking about a second waive of interviews:/ I'm really bummed out though cause I just have that gut feeling that I am rejected.

I wish you the absolute best on your interview by the way!!!

I am wondering, when did you submit your the last of your application? I ended up submitting mind Jan 2nd in person, kinda worried now that it reflects poorly.

Also sorry if you posted this somewhere before but I couldn't find it, do you have any experience working in the mental health field?

Hello! I turned in my application early since I’ve been rejected from a Masters 2 years ago and wanted to get it done differently this time! However, as far as I know, it doesn’t effect anything! They start reviewing applications together at the same time, so I wouldn’t be too nervous about it!

Yes, I do have some experience in mental health field. I worked as a behavioral therapist with kids with special needs for a year, worked as a crisis counselor for a year, and am currently working with kids with special needs again. I also have been involved in research in psychology for a year.I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your kind wishes!

Congratulations!! I didn't get anything:/ pretty sure that means I will get a rejection letter soon- I just wish they sent rejections and invited at the same time so I wouldn't have to sit here all anxious

If you don't mind me asking what day is the interview? also when you say your regular email you mean the csun one correct?

Hi @dbrick! Don’t give up: I’ve read the CSUN forums where they send a second wave on invitations later on during the process!
My interview was scheduled for Feb 20th, but there was an option to select a suitable date and time slot. No, it was on my regular email (the one I used my application). I didn’t receive an email on the CSUN account.

I really hope you get an email as well!

Ahhh!  SO excited for you guys! How much time in between invite and interview are they giving you?  I'm not currently in LA so I will have to fly out and I'm nervous it's going to be a quick turn around time lol.  PLEASE let this mean that MSW is going to start invites soon.  I am DYING. Lol

Hello :) You are given a chance to choose a date between 17th and 20th! I hope that helps!

Thank you!  I’ve only ever been employed only in social work since high school. I also have lots of volunteer work in LGBTQ organizations. I feel confident like 70% of the time lol.

I feel you... I get really paranoid when it comes to my chances. I worry if I’m missing something or if they deem me to be not experienced enough.
Also, I feel like it’s challenging to find a paying job in the field of psychology (especially closely related to what you want to do in the future) being limited to only BA. I hope that my work experience being just in the same field is enough

Thanks for your info!  I’m going crazy checking my email every day because it seemed last year you all got emails back within January!

i have 4.5 years as a Mental health psych tech/crisis line operator and 5 years of case management- 3 in mental health and 2 in homelessness (currently working in homelessness sector now). I got my degree in psych and my cumulative GPA is 3.0 and my last 60 credits is 3.6. I feel pretty confident in my experience but I waver between confident and absolutely feeling not qualified enough yet lol.

what are some questions you recommend asking in the interview?

Your experience sounds great! I think they will value how diverse your experience is and how devoted you are to the field!

Awww!! I have been busy with work so I hadn't checked my email for a few days but honestly I hate checking it and not seeing anything, especially when I check it after a few days. I feel like I am not going to get anything

As far as the schools, I mean I hope you get into the program! but for me if i don't get it I may have to apply to private schools that have a higher acceptance rate ? i really want to start my education so I don't want to have to wait until the next application period

I feel you! I am seriously considering doing the same now... Let's hope we both get accepted and won't need to pay delirious amounts of money for our education!

Hello, I also applied to CSUN MSW program and I would have turn my application early but unfortunately all my references turned in the letter of recommendation late December. I received an email from CSUN that my application was under review.  CSUN is my first choice so I'm really nervous but good luck to all.

Wishing you best of luck! As far as I know, they don’t start reviewing early applications before the others, so don’t worry about it! As long as you’ve turned your application in on time, it wouldn’t make much of a difference!

  9. Hello there,

I’m also an MFT applicant at CSUN anxiously anticipating an invitation for an interview, but haven’t heard much yet.
I have about 3 years of experience in mental health field and 1 year of research. Graduated with a degree in psych from a UC with good GPA. Wishing everybody good luck and cannot wait to hear from other applicants!
