Anyone else freaking out waiting for UT-Austin? The last 3 years they sent out acceptances on January 29, 25, and 24...looks like this year won't be until February 3 at the earliest at this point (assuming they don't do it over the weekend).
YES! That is the program I have been obsessively checking... I'm just hoping it will be early next week!

Thank you! The interview went pretty chill and informal. I'm thinking Irvine is no as well. Which leaves only my reach schools. I'm thinking that if I don't get into Irvine or Rutgers, I'm not getting in this year.
If you don't mind me asking, where else did you apply? I also wouldn't lose hope- I know personally of several people who didn't get into "safety schools" but got into an IVY or something similar

I had an interview with Rutgers and they told me we should be hearing back this Friday the 31st or early next week. Mine was also super informal and conversational. I wonder what they are trying to get out of the interview. He was more telling me about the program and answering any questions I had than interviewing me. How about you?
Yeah basically the same. Didn't say when we would hear though- seemed like they were selling the program

Hi all! I was just wondering if anybody else comes from a non-Sociology background?
Yes, I do! I have a background in religion/theology.

I got the email from Vanderbilt today. It was a stock acceptance email from the graduate admission director; she said that official letters will be sent in the next few weeks. I don't know if everything was sent out at once, only what I got!
Thank you for the info and congratulations!

I am as well - Prior year results would make it seem that we should know by the end of the week.
Have you heard anything from them? Other programs had interviews and such, but I'm not sure what the protocol is for this particular program. I didn't see any interview listings on the results page either.
No I haven't... I'm guessing they will just update via the website judging from last year?

New Account. Just got rejected from Notre Dame today (first decision letter). I'm surprised, I really thought I had a chance. I felt like it was one of the most generic rejection letters I have ever gotten. I have 5 schools left. Only had an interview with Rutgers and Irvine hasn't sent me anything yet. ?
Hang in there! I also had a Rutgers interview and am waiting on Irvine... thinking it's a no at this point. Did your POI at Rutgers tell you when to expect a response? How did it go? Mine seemed pretty informal and conversational.

Hmm that is weird! I am wondering about Vanderbilt too... I wonder if they send it all out at once or little by little. Anyone claiming Vanderbilt?

Historically, it also seems like decisions from UT Austin come out this week. Anyone waiting on those too?
Also, just out of curiosity, who out is looking to focus on immigration and focused their applications on that? I went immigration all the way and applied to UT, UCLA, UC Irvine, CUNY, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Princeton, Brown, Penn, and CU Boulder.

Great, thanks! Yeah I received basically the same thing, but am wondering how many they allotted funding for.
