  1. Has anyone heard anything from Washington State (Pullman)?
  2. @BlueSkyy I'm still waiting on Oregon, Georgia, and Austin. Not expecting to get into Austin, though they've emailed me a few times in the past week about my undergrad trascript and timing on degree, so maybe I'll wind up on their waitlist? Didn't interview or anything with Oregon or Georgia, so those seem unlikely, but you never know.
  3. I was talking with friend this morning and was mentioning that seems like a lot of programs are running later this year on decisions when compared to previous years. She was like, "Oh, because of the impeachment hearings?" I hadn't thought of that (since I daidn't watch them), but for those of looking at programs in communciation, politics, American Studies, etc, that could actually be a contributing factor since it's undoubtedly being discussed in classes.
  4. @DuhGoobz If it makes you feel any better, you were accepted before me! I didn't get my acceptance letter until the 20th.
  5. @thetruewalkingwoman I'm just as anxious, but I'm not planning to bug any schools for a few weeks. Yes, some people have been accepted already to the dream school, but there are a lot of different reasons why someone might hear early, like maybe the advisor they wanted is only taking one student and made their decision but everyone else is taking the time until they send out the regularly scheduled decisions.Check the past couple of years for your programs in the results list... if most of the notices seem to be coming out Feb 11 or 15, then don't expect anything before that, and if you do hear earlier, consider it a bonus.
  6. @DuhGoobz I got into BGSU also. Got my funding letter 2 days after acceptance. Tuition, out-of-state waiver, and GA spot at 13,500. Not much to live on, but looking at apartments online it seems doable. BGSU's PhD GA range is 12k-14k according to the salary tables in the handbook. Waiting to see what happens over the next two week with the other schools I applied to.
  7. "Decision is pending" "In review" "Under review" "Department has received your application and will review" "Pending" Etc.
  8. @Collatinus Thanks! The waiting is grueling, but I console myself that in a few weeks it will be over one way or another.
  9. @Collatinus I'm looking more at narrative engagement and effects of popular culture on beliefs and behaviors, so I was talking with Karyn Riddle in Mass Comm, or Marie Louise Mares in Comm Sci. I like both programs for different reasons, but felt like I made a better connection in mass comm, and the program has a bit more freedom. My proposed reasearch doesn't completely overlap with current mass comm stuff, so it would be more of a "this professor is interested in this and could advise" vs. "this is exactly what they're doing." Crossing fingers.
  10. @Collatinus Is there a specifci POI you spoke with before applying that you're looking to work with?
  11. Same. Notification dates range over a month or two, would be so much easier if they would just say what date their decisions are going to be made. Got an acceptance (unexpectedly early) this week, but am not as confident about remaining programs.
