  1. Oh dear. I'm looking on the website, and sort of seeing this, but still very confused. Has anyone else already navigated the maze of CUNY funding? Does turning the form in late hurt? To anyone who has received notice of a fellowship this year - had you previously filled out all of the financial aid forms?
  2. I'm still waiting to hear on funding - emailed to see when I'd know by, but haven't heard back yet. And supplemental aid form? Where/what is that? Was it not part of the application??

Has anyone accepted at CUNY heard anything more about their funding? I saw 1 or 2 fellowship offers posted on gradcafe, but I'm wondering if they award them on some sort of rolling basis (the accept letter said "through March")? Anyone who has been accepted heard any details about their funding? I'd love to know sooner rather than later!
  4. Does anyone know where on Penn's ApplyYourself website one can find the notification of acceptance? Clearly, its possible that its not up yet, and probably won't be till the deadline on Friday - but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something! I've seen some schools that have a section called "Decision," but see nothing like this for Penn. Maybe they just update your front page?
  5. Finally getting down to nuts and bolts here with these applications. As I go to send my transcripts out, it seems unclear at most schools whether they prefer your undergrad school to mail the transcript directly to them or prefer you to send it with the rest of your materials? Also, any thoughts regarding Interfolio? One of my profs told me definitely to use it, and that everyone does...but when I actually finally looked at the school's apps, they either have their own online system or want you to print out a PDF form to send in with it (also annoying because recommenders need to go through all these different systems...) Thanks!
  6. It may vary from discipline to discipline, but I haven't noticed really anyone asking about scores on the analytic writing section of the GRE. Is this typically not a strong factor?
  7. Re: This year's subject dates. I'm assuming that for schools that have a Dec. 1 or 15th deadline, one should be safe and go with the October testing date? Or are they usually a bit more flexible with receiving the test results?
  8. If you look at the general rankings for top English PhD programs, Harvard is tied for first with Yale and Berkeley, so no worries. The list posted here was for criticism and theory.
  9. I'm prepping to take the GRE in September, and wondering if its worth my time to study for the Quantitative section, as I'll be applying to English and Comp Lit programs, which I'm assuming don't put much value on that section. Its been awhile since I've done anything tested in that section, and my estimated score from a practice test was somewhere around 500. Any experience/thoughts/advice? Thanks!
