  1. Hey! Had you spoken with a potential advisor before applying?
  2. Hi there masters results typically come out in mid March-June
  3. Weird! I emailed today asking if interviews have concluded for this year I’ll let you know if they answer!
  4. Nothing! I’m starting to get nervous, have you emailed the department?
  5. @Photo Light have you heard anything from UofT?
  6. Not sure if this will help the this site https://www.phdstipends.com/results lists the stipend amount of various schools and programs, maybe you can say “ x school is offering x amount can you match that?” Worth noting I have no experience negotiating stipends
  7. There’s definitely a lot unspoken rules. Thank you! I hope you get in too!The program at Waterloo seems great.
  8. Yeah I did, I find even when programs say you don’t have to it’s better if you’ve already identified and chatted with the prof you want to work with
  9. Is SBS social behavior? On their website it says admissions start going out in February
  10. I’ve heard that if you had an advisor identified you’re pretty much in, but they don’t send decisions until march
  11. Just to add in my two cents, I received an offer from a Canadian school and they gave me a month to decide as they “expect I’m waiting to hear from other schools” and they offered to let me speak to current students to get an idea of the lab and program. If a prof isn’t giving you this courtesy then it also speaks volumes of them as an advisor.
  12. From what I’ve heard from current students/profs is that if you’re not rejected out right it means you’re on an informal waitlist in the event that someone rejects their offer
  13. An acceptance to uoft? Could you link it here please? Good luck to you too!
  14. Well that makes me feel a bit better! Hopefully that’s a good sign for both of us, I was looking at the thread from 2019 and some decisions were sent the week of Feb 11th. On their website it states the do an interview “if necessary” but doesn’t state what would qualify as necessary. So I guess the waiting game continues.
  15. Has anyone applied to DLSPH this year and heard anything from them?
  16. Thanks for the feedback! I’ve only heard of UofT doing interviews and that’s on a case by case basis, typically students have to identify a supervisor prior to applying to the program so the “interviews” are just casual chats with a prof before applying.
  17. Hey everyone, in Canada not all schools conduct interviews but there are few that do. What is typically asked during the interviews? thanks in advance!
  18. Good luck! I’ve also applied to uoft, on their website it says decisions start coming out in early - mid February! Fingers crossed for good outcomes for us both!
  19. No nothing yet, I also applied for the epi stream. I’m a domestic applicant
  20. Have you heard anything from them? Are you a domestic or international applicant?
  21. Thought I’d start a thread for those applying to Canadian PhD programs!
  22. Has anyone applied to Canadian schools?
