  1. Yes, I will be declining OGS too, so hang in there reversion listers!
  2. let's hope that "sending" means the letters by mail, and that an electronic posting on the website will happen before then!
  3. I applied direct to the Ministry last year, as an undergraduate student from out-of-province, and won an OGS. I imagine all applications are treated the same, regardless of where you're coming from. You intend to study IN Ontario. I think that's all they care about.
  4. Thanks! (And drat! I though that error message meant news was imminent.)
  5. E-MAILPRINT The online application is temporarily unavailable as it is currently being updated. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Please check back later.
  6. Yes, I did the same with my university as an undergrad applying for an MA sshrc. I was given my ranking in the department, and also my actual scores from the university's internal sshrc committee (very interesting, as there was a big scoring range). Definitely worth asking.
  7. Okay thanks Dramanda and congratulations! I was wondering if maybe there was another batch of good news letters that hadn't been sent out yet...but it sounds like all the results are out. [quote name='dramanda' timestamp='1303924504' post='250164 Mine wasn't a CGS
  8. Thanks Longshotluke, and congratulations!
  9. Does anyone know why we are only seeing CGS results (with the exception of those in C category)? What's happening with the four year awards?
  10. Thank you for the information re: scoring. It seems like such a disconnect to see lower scores with funding and higher scores waitlisted or sent 'no' letters. I wonder if we'd be better off not knowing our scores, since they seem to be sub-committee-specific, and therefore, not particularly meaningful across categories. I too send my condolences to those of you who were not successful this time around (and congratulations to those of you who were).
  11. Good news in Ottawa too - 18.5/30, which qualified me for an award in the "A category". Seemed like a low score to me, although I'll be in my first year of a PhD in September, so have no familiarity with the scoring process. Won a A Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Doctoral - three years of funding. -won OGS and SSHRC at MA level -two publications -zero conference presentations(!) -two RA-ships -several internal scholarships during undergrad and at MA-level -an undergraduate award for a paper As Felan said, this is a bit of a SSHRC crap-shoot, so you just never know. Good luck to all...!
  12. Congratulations Felan! Very good news indeed, and nice to know that the results have left the building!
  13. Yes, and I'd like to point out - it's very easy for meanings to be misconstrued in this medium. I suspect the initial misunderstanding stemmed from a real attempt to be supportive, in the true spirit of this blog.
  14. Drat! Thanks for the update, Maple27. I guess this means we'll be waiting over Easter. Sigh...
  15. Yes, I don't think there's a lot of #1 going on at this stage of the game! Sigh...
