  1. Did anyone attend the information session yesterday/is anyone attending today? If so, would you mind sharing a bit about what you learned?
  2. Thanks for sharing this! For folks who received it, have you heard from/been assigned an Assistant Director? I have already resigned from my social services job in anticipation of going to school FT, so this is concerning to me. Wish I'd known!
  3. Has anyone heard anything about a new student orientation, registration advisement, or anything from the field placement office? I have committed and claimed my CUNYFirst account but it's been radio silence since then and registration starts this month.
  4. Literally same! At this point I've picked my school, so I guess it doesn't matter, but I would still like to KNOW. Every single time, it's another Facebook live invite. ? I think their admissions committee is ghosting me.
  5. I got accepted into NYU, Fordham, and Hunter as well! Still haven't heard from Columbia. Honestly, it came down to my cost-benefit analysis. I got a total of 24k in funding from NYU and 8k from Fordham. I got NO scholarships from Hunter (which I hear is pretty common) and it is still significantly more affordable, on top of being a highly regarded and competitive program in NYC. Outside of NYC, it doesn't have the name recognition of an a school like NYU or Columbia, but I don't feel that matters so much in this field. Ultimately, you have to decide what feels best for you. They are all fantastic programs and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them, but if cost is an important factor, Hunter is a sensible choice.
  6. @MMH0913 Congrats!!! That's awesome news.
  7. Thank you! 2-year full time.
  8. Sent in on 1/23, completed on 1/29
  9. Just got accepted into HUNTER! My top choice! No interview. So excited and relieved! Good luck everyone!
  10. Update... I JUST got accepted!!! Without an interview! I feel silly for freaking out. Everyone check your web portals! Good luck!
  11. Did anyone notice that Hunter extended their application deadline to April 15th? ? This has me extremely nervous. If they're accepting applications until April 15th, does that mean it could be SUMMER before I hear back? Not to mention that ALL of my other schools need my decision by the 15th... I'm pulling my hair out. My options are pretty much Go To Hunter or Accrue Mountains of Debt. The silence is killing me!!
  12. Fingers crossed! I ended up emailing them and got a response today that said decisions and interview requests will be sent out "in the coming weeks" and I was warned it might take longer than normal... It did not leave me feeling reassured. ?? Good luck to you too!
  13. Just out of curiosity (and since you got in -- congrats by the way!) can you share how you answered the interview question?
  14. Long-time lurker, popping in late in the game. I applied to full time programs at Hunter, Columbia, Rutgers, Fordham, and UPenn. Still working on apps for NYU and UMich, to be honest. My ADHD is kicking in ? I got my acceptance letter from UPenn today! Bittersweet news honestly. I'm obsessed with their program and I LOVE Philly, but the tuition is insanely high and they only offered me 12k. From what I've heard that seems about standard. I just can't justify going 150k into debt for a social work degree... Really bummed I don't think I can make it happen. I've also been accepted in Rutgers and Fordham, which I'm unsure about. Really just waiting on Hunter!! Congrats to everyone who's gotten into their school, and good luck to everyone still waiting! We got this.
  15. I submitted my application on 1/23 and it was completed on 1/29. Still no word. Nothing in my portal either. So far, I've been accepted to three of the five programs I applied to. No rejections yet. Hunter is my top choice and I'm waiting to hear back from them, but I've already had to put down a deposit at one school because they would not extend the deadline. I'm really frustrated, and debating reaching out to them, but I don't want to seem unprofessional and hurt my chances!! Has anyone had any luck reaching out to admissions? Congrats to everyone who's been accepted!!
