Hello everyone! I just got an offer of admission from UBC MPH off the waitlist a moment ago - so super happy to be admitted! I am still more interested in the SFU program than the UBC program so I may decline the offer from UBC, which will hopefully open up a spot for another deserving candidate. Haven’t made my decision yet but super excited to be starting grad school in the fall!

That’s absurd. Would you happen to know how many they keep on their waitlist? Also, what’s the point of a waitlist if they’re going to over-admit by more than double...?

Does anyone know if UBC MPH’s waitlist has had any movement whatsoever? I remember seeing some posts on here saying they’ve declined UBC’s offer...surely they’d have some movement in the waitlist since then? I emailed UBC and they said there aren’t any new updates - so how would they have filled the places of those who declined admission? ?

Hey! Where did you get this information from? I accepted an offer for a graduate program at UBC but it’s been radio silence from them regarding future protocols.

Just wanted to let you all know that I recently declined my U of A Health Promotion Distance Ed offer. I hope this opens up a spot for one of you!

Idk of any yet, I’m on the UBC MPH waitlist and haven’t heard of anyone being taken off the waitlist yet.

UBC emailed and said they're still unsure of their fall enrolment and are unsure of how the physical distancing practices will affect their fall enrolment. But that's all that I've heard.

Update for waitlisted candidates for UBC MPH: I emailed UBC about their waitlist and whether we can know what position we are on the list. They still said unfortunately they can’t release that information to us. I personally don’t think this is fair because they can’t even give us a firm date by which we can expect to hear a final decision.

Just got an email from UBC MPH regarding their waitlist. They said due to COVID-19 they're still unsure of their Fall enrolment (ie: who will actually be able to attend, etc.) and that they will continue to keep me on the waitlist until they make a final decision. They said likely spots will open up but they're unsure as to when they will be able to deliver their firm decisions to waitlist candidates. Anybody else in the same boat?
