  1. Perhaps you could try emailing the school to check on the status of your application?
  2. It's a public holiday in Singapore today, so I'm not sure if any offers will be sent out today. Perhaps next Monday, some may start to hear from the school again? All the best to everyone who's still waiting!
  3. Hmm yeah, and costs of living in Singapore aren't exactly Low too. Where are you from? And yes, my concerns are yours too! I live here, but I don't fancy having to pay off debt for years, especially with other life commitments coming up in the next few years. With no guarantee of a high-paying job - or even a job at all - after graduation, it's too huge a risk to take. The only thing really, that's stopping me from going ahead is the cost. There are benefits to this degree yes, but the risks and costs are too high. I'm waiting on a reply from my company at this point, as I'm currently already on unpaid leave. Depending on the outlook for return to the company then, I'll be able to make a better choice.
  4. My considerations exactly too. Even within 1 year, I'm not sure that my financial obligations may change much, especially with Covid. I'm still thinking hard about this. are you singaporean? Prodigy finance is only available for international students, otherwise you could check out MOE's Tuition Fee Loan scheme. But same, I can't imagine having to pay off debt for the next number of years, and with interest to boot
  5. I tried appealing to the school for any sort of waiver or grant, but was rejected - "However, we do not have the resources to award as many scholarships as we would like to." I accepted the offer at first, but am now reconsidering due to the lack of funding from the school. Congrats on the offer though! Will you be accepting it?
  6. Yes, I wonder how many scholarships were actually given out this year, given that no one seems to have been awarded a scholarship at all...
  7. I think I misread their email, hah - don't think any package will be sent! Sorry for the confusion ?
  8. @chewbakkwa have you received the offer package in the mail? It's been a week and I haven't got anything at all.
  9. Good news for Singapore students, as per the website: "NUS will freeze tuition fee increases for Singapore Citizens enrolled in government-subsidised postgraduate programmes in AY2020. This will help mitigate the impact of costs to Singaporean households during these challenging times. Postgraduate tuition fees follow a fee schedule that is set at the year of admission, with pre-planned annual increases over the course duration. With the freeze in tuition fee increases, Singaporean postgraduate students from the AY2020/21 intake will pay the AY2019 fees in their first year of study. The fee schedule for the remaining course duration will be reviewed before the start of AY2021."
  10. 9 April. Perhaps they send out offers in batches I'm thinking. It's such a short timeline to think about the offer , less than 2 weeks!
  11. I see. Hope to see you around the campus anyway, in the future! And thank you! I emailed them on Friday but haven't yet heard back from them, so I'll decide after they respond. Deferring will definitely allow more time to build up finances too.
  12. You're right. Am thinking if the S$5000 increase for local students is meant to make up for the decreased fees for international students? I'm curious to know how many local students actually got offered financial aid... that increase makes a heck lot of difference. A rather pretty sum. All the best @cee123! I hope you hear from them soon!
