  1. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more
  2. Straight up chaotic evil character there.
  3. What? This thread relax? Come one, we all know that'll never happen.
  4. That would be logical, which, given my experience with Systems Plus, means they definitely won't do that.
  5. Come on, give me an umbrella before you rain on my parade
  6. I wonder if anyone is going to refresh the NDSEG website at 12:01am in case they have a published list set up as a scheduled update? I very well might.
  7. The application did definitely suck. I seem to recall that I couldn't even download the files I uploaded, which is something I always do to make sure they worked correctly. For all that Systems Plus does a lot of contract work for AFOSR, they don't seem to have it down that well. Least it wasn't surveymonkey though - that must have been a s--tshow.
  8. Why would they ever pick that many alternates? This is one of the more selective, and definitely one of the highest paying, fellowships out there. I can't imagine many people will turn it down. Heck, if I had gotten the GRFP and this, I'd take this in a heartbeat (although some others may have different opinions).
  9. Yes, it has been tried. The official line is that the dates are meaningless. Watch as @jjvamd47 with the update in January actually is the only one on the thread to win. All of our collective minds would simultaneously explode.
  10. Also, it wouldn't really make sense to have 8x more alternates than awardees, and if the 6th is the awardee dates, then the 7th would probably be alternates. I really should put this much thought into my homework ? For ONR, plausible, but so far we have no AFRL applicants with a 6th update only, and with 20 of them, at a historic 5% acceptance rate overall, we should have one, or two if the branch trend holds.
  11. The percentage is about right overall (again, assuming that we have a semi-representative sample, which is unclear), but that would overpredict ONR awards and underpredict AFRL and ARO awards. I'm hoping you're wrong because I had another on the 7th after ? I'm driving myself mad here thinking about these. TELL US THE TRUTH SYSTEMS PLUS! END OUR SUFFERING!
  12. Given the comparatively small number of February updates, you may be onto something. The mystery deepens.
  13. Unclear if this thread is truly a representative sample, but looking at last year's recipients, it looks like last year each branch (ARO, AFOSR, and ONR) gave out a roughly equal number of awards (~55 ea), but the responses we have now show that ARO and ARO/ERDC combined are about 2/3 of applicants and the rest split about even between ONR and AFRL. May affect probabilities of getting an award, all else equal.
  14. The fact that the 4/6 update seems to be happening individually, at different times, implies that they're individually changing something for each of us, rather than some batch update. Make of that what you will.
  15. Same - 2/28, 4/3, now 4/6 AFOSR, Combustion BAA
  16. No need to add to the list of update dates; that looks like it's been beat to death and we should hear soon anyhow. A word of wisdom for those of us who may get this, though: Systems Plus is a HUGE pain to work with. They also run a short summer fellowship for AFOSR (https://afsffp.sysplus.com/) that I worked on. In the process, they managed to: - Lose all of my submitted files (report, summary, patent disclosure, etc.) because they were doing server maintenance (or something like that) the week they were due to send their files on to the DoD so I had to resubmit everything - Send my tax forms to the wrong address - Take two months of badgering to get them to send them to me properly after that It was an adventure. If you have any problems, expect them to take many many emails and phone calls to address.
