  1. I feel a bit silly posting this, but can someone help me find the MOVE portal? I received this email: __________ Dear Scholarship Holders, As already announced by our branch office in New York, your application has been chosen for a long-term research grant in Germany by the selection committee. We will send you the acceptance package via the MOVE portal electronically, which includes the following documents: Cover Letter Letter of Award Scholarship Certificate Declaration of Acceptance German language course information The booklet ”Your DAAD-Scholarship” The documents will be available for you in the portal on May 23, 2014 . Kind regards, Irmtrud Witsch __________________________ But I cannot for the life of me find the acceptance package in the DAAD portal. Is the MOVE portal different? If so, can someone share the link? If not, can someone direct me where to go within the DAAD portal (the one used to submit the application) to find this information? Thanks!
  2. Great, thanks so much for the quick response!
  3. On a sort of related note: Does anyone know what the deal is with equipment purchased through the NSF? I'm still waiting to hear but just curious--it says online that it equipment becomes property of your institution, but do you get to keep it for as long as you're a student or only during the year that you hold the grant? I'm thinking of stuff like a camera and a laptop, not lab equipment.
  4. The same thing happened to me--my review date was 4/3 and when I logged into Fastlane this morning I saw the Program Officer had changed but the application was still listed as "pending." A good sign?
  5. Stefairy, is this the Research Scholarship or the Study Scholarship that you're referring to? I applied to the Research Scholarship--anyone know when to expect a result?
  6. Ah, good to hear! Thanks for letting me know.
  7. Does anyone know what it means if your proposal has disappeared from Fastlane? I just checked my page today and there is no indication that I ever submitted a proposal--I tried searching by proposal number and date submitted. Is this a good thing, bad thing, standard thing, or administrative hiccup?
  8. I applied to the DDIG and my review date was originally scheduled for October 17th, but since that was the day the shutdown was resolved I imagine it was not reviewed--after the NSF came back in business my status changed from "Review Date October 17th" back to "pending" which is how it looked before a review date was scheduled. However, when I click on the application number for details it says that the proposal was reviewed on October 17th. Is this just an automated message? Does a proposal revert to "pending" after it's been reviewed or does this mean my review date is yet to be rescheduled? Anyone have a similar experience? I was hoping to reapply for the January deadline if I am not successful this round, and wish I could find out if there's any chance I'll hear before then.
  9. Hi all, I'm not sure this post is in the right place (if not, my apologies), but I'm just wondering if anyone who has been admitted to a PhD program in Socio-Cultural Anthropology could share a little about themselves! I keep seeing all the reject/admit posts, and, as a prospective applicant-- I'm currently in an MA program, and will be applying to PhD's in the fall--I'm curious to know more about the students behind the decisions. So, could Anthropology PhD applicants describe themselves? What kind of undergrad? Post-grad experiences? MA? Other life experiences? Relationship to prospective university/advisors? Where did you apply, and where did you get in? Thanks!
