  1. Interesting! It was my first time applying and although I did rank high and receive it, I was still hoping for more feedback lol
  2. I got the email and ended up receiving the award. CIHR posted the following on Twitter which makes me wonder if only successful applicants received it, and that CIHR hit send too soon? Someone I know didn’t get the email nor the award it seems like. “Attention CIHR Doctoral Award applicants: You may have received a Notice of Decision email before ResearchNet had been updated. The information in the email regarding your funding status is correct and ResearchNet will be updated shortly to match. Apologies for the confusion.”
  3. Got a CIHR CGS-M at u of t and my department includes it as part of my base stipend. 17.5K of my stipend will come from CGS and the rest of it will come from supervisor or department. My department, like some others, give you a top up which means you get a bit more money above your base stipend (kind of a “thanks for saving us some money” award). Not sure what funding is like for other faculties/divisions, but this is the case for Faculty of Medicine Departments for the most part, so there’s a financial incentive along with predictive to get an award.
  4. Does anyone know if successful applicants get to ever (even if after after a couple months from notification/public announcement) find out how they ranked? Specifically wondering if U of T does this, but if anyone from other schools has any insight, would be helpful!
  5. Congrats!
  6. Got offered the CIHR-stream award at U of T and accepted (only school I applied to as I'm a current student). Best of luck to everyone!
  7. I did, currently in grad program
  8. UofT - current student
  9. Also got that update yesterday that results will be available on April 1st - April fool’s day, coincidentally
  10. Thanks! And thanks for this!
  11. Just got recommended on 1 June 2020 via the OGS application portal. Would you be able to explain that the SGS exactly does to ‘confirm’ the award? I thought it was just the department who reviews and adjudicates applications?
