  1. Task: Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Instructions: Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. Essay: A leader must maintain a variety of important characteristics, but none as important as maintaining the respect of his or her peers. An effective leader is gaged by their likeliness and acceptance among his or her people. For example, political polls are always using percentages to show the public how liked a presidential candidate is during weeks leading up to voting. These are especially true when presidential candidates are taking a stand on current events. A leader, looks at his or her peers, and finds commonalities in order to maintain likeability and respect. Although, being liked and respected by others makes for an effective leader. A leader must be able to make sound moral judgement in times of uncertainty and under high stress. I use the president as an example because he or she who leads a country rose to the occasion by popular demand. The commonalities the peers found in their campaign to vote he or she into office in the first place. Given the leader is sworn into office with their right hand on the Bible they must make sound moral judgements. A leader's ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers relies heavily on any judgements made by their leader. An effective leader can lead his or her peers easily when they are liked and accepted. This allows the leader to maintain the respect of his or her peers through the duration of his or her leadership duties. --Thank you in advance for your commentary and advice on this essay.
