I applied 12/1 and heard back last week. If you don't hear back by friday maybe reach out and make sure they have all of your materials or just see where they are with your app? I know it's disappointing to have to keep waiting like this.

Found out that I got into Columbia on 2/26 (last friday) for advanced standing msw & totally forgot to come on here & update! For those of you who have gotten in so far, have they sent scholarship amounts with your acceptance or separately? I noticed some people talking about award money received. Thank you!

that is reassuring to hear! i won't be able to submit my mid-semester eval until the summer, but I let them know so hopefully there are no issues going forward. it just makes me nervous & i'm so ready to hear back! good luck to you!

Has anyone who applied to columbia around 12/1 received an email about a coffee chat with the dean? I thought I would have heard back this week but it said in the beginning of the email "we are looking forward to reviewing your MSW application" I feel like this is a bad thing, should I email them to make sure they have all of my materials? Any advice?

I applied on 12/1 as well! Have you done your field internship/were you able to turn in the field supervisor form? Or did you have to defer turning it in (if you don't mind me asking!)

did anyone who applied to columbia MSW advanced standing have to postpone their field supervision paperwork? I had to postpone mine since I am doing field in the summer & am wondering if that is why there is a delay in my decision. I applied on 12/1 and haven't heard anything back

I am so sorry I am just getting to this. You're absolutely right. I only ended up applying to two schools and one of them is columbia. It's so pricey & even though its my dream school, I don't think I can justify the price even if i get in :(

Yeah, you're right. It's so easy to get caught up in the flashiness of universities like Columbia. Have you had any experiences with specific state universities that you could recommend? I'm open to pretty much anything right now!!

Hello! I am a BSW student about to start my senior year so I am looking into grad schools to get my MSW. So far I have looked at Columbia, Fordham, UNC- Chapel Hill, and Florida State! Just wondering if anyone had any tips on choosing a grad school- what to look for, how to plan, and what experiences anyone has had with any of these grad schools!! Thank you!

Hi all! I am going into my senior year of my BSW and I am starting to look into grad school. My dream school is Columbia so I am wondering if anyone has any tips for the application- how to write the personal statement, how to format my resume... I'll take any advice I can get! I am currently doing an internship, volunteering with a non profit, and I am on two executive boards. My grades aren't perfect but they are not terrible either. Regardless I'm afraid my GPA is going to get me denied immediately. So, again, any advice on the application process would be much appreciated! Also, if you're applying too, feel free to post questions here as well : ) Thank you!
