  1. Best of luck! From what I can tell, they haven't sent out acceptances for either program yet, so crossing my fingers for both of us!!
  2. I am waiting on Case Western after an interview. They didn't give me a timeline
  3. Has anyone heard from UC Irvine VS or Case Western??
  4. I went to UNC-CH for my undergrad and was an art history major. I am curious about your experience there! My undergrad time was great, but I am currently in a toxic grad program so I am wondering how it changed from undergrad to grad.
  5. Basically, I am currently in a MA program for Art History. Long story short, the program is loaded with issues and it has killed my passion for the field and a future career. Law school has always been on my radar as something I was interested in, and now being in a failed program, I feel more inclined to try and apply. My undergrad GPA was solid, but due to the issues in my MA program and long covid health issues, my grades are averaging in the Bs more. My two main questions are 1. Will law schools take someone who didn't spend undergrad preparing to apply to law school? 2. Do the graduate transcripts matter as much as undergraduate?
  6. I am currently getting an MA in art history (just finished the first semester) and I absolutely hate my program. They lied about a lot of things to convince me to come, and my advisor assigned my thesis topic (so I don't even get to write about what I want). I reported some of the professors in the department for mistreatment of students (there were terrible incidents that did not include myself) and the some of the professors took it out on me with my final course grades. I have just decided I have absolutely had it and I want out as this program has killed my love for art. Is transferring even possible with an MA? Is there a way to explain these poor grades to a potential program (I had As all semester and they rapidly declined after the reports I made came through)?
  7. hi! just applied for summer 2021. does anyone know when semi finalists are supposed to be contacted? or if there is any new updates regarding the internship and covid?
  8. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could speak to the admissions process at Hunter. It is currently my top choice, but I have yet to find out any information on acceptance rates or what they look for outside of the "courses in art history and have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in those courses, with a minimum 3.0 index overall." By the time of my application, I will have a cumulative 3.5 with a 3.6-3.7 range in my major courses (classics/art history) from a top 20 university, archaeological field experience, internship at the state museum, research experience and decent recs. Is this a good range for getting into the program? I am just very nervous cause I have had minimal information regarding admissions for Hunter. I am hoping to focus on ancient art there, specifically looking at one of the professors who specializes in Egypt that they have. I am also drawn to the access to the top museums just by being in NYC. Thanks everyone!
