  1. Got a rejection email from MIT this morning! Best of luck to the rest of you
  2. Did you contact anyone from the department?
  3. No, but it seems like they extended a "vast majority" of offers last week (based on someone's comment on the results page)
  4. I hope not at least not until the end of the next week
  5. I heard back from UR on Dec 9 but it might be because I went there for undergrad. I'm pretty sure that they are sending admissions/rejections on an ongoing basis. Good luck!
  6. Not yet... I'm really hoping we hear from them soon
  7. For Yale they are on Feb 11/12 and March 11/12
  8. Thank you! Congrats on getting into Michigan! Fingers crossed for your Cornell and MIT acceptances. I assume you're focusing on physical chemistry?
  9. Hi, international student here. I was accepted at Cornell on Dec 17th; visitation days will take place on Feb 20th and Mar 27th. I'm still waiting on UMich and MIT decisions!
  10. @kittensneezesforevergot in! I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm hoping that they will release results either this week or next
  11. Possibly useful update for international students: got a call from POI at Northwestern to let me know I was accepted. I applied for physical/biophysical and inorganic/bioinorganic
  12. Thanks! Physical/biophysical I'm pretty sure they will send out more acceptances soon. Good luck!!
  13. I'm an international student (did undergrad in the US) and I heard from Yale on December 18th. I received an email to check the application portal and then I got a call from POI.
  14. Congrats!! That's amazing. Did they tell you in the email or did they tell you to check the portal?
  15. Has anyone heard from MIT? It seems like they've started sending some admissions...
  16. Congrats everyone! Updates from me: received acceptances from Cornell, Yale and UMinnesota Haven't heard from Northwestern or MIT yet
  17. Has anyone heard from Cornell? Does anyone know how much (approximately) the 12-month stipend would be?
  18. No need to stress about it! The only reason "Pariser" goes before "Parr" is because i goes before r alphabetically. I don't think the admissions committee will pay any particular attention to it. Of course you know what you're doing and you're familiar with the subject - you wrote a whole thesis on it!
  19. Has anyone applied to MIT? I received this message on the portal today: Has anyone else received this?
  20. @toriloveschemI just looked at the last year's results section, and it seems like some of the earliest decisions were made during the second half of December. @a1120congrats!
  21. How's everyone holding up? I keep checking my email every hour ? I'm not even sure when we're supposed to expect results because last year, first Monday of December (I assume this is when most schools start looking at apps) was on December 2nd, and this year, it was on December 7th. So, decisions might come a week later than last year...
  22. I would use the third example. As mentioned above, SOP is a formal essay, and it is recommended to keep the person's title throughout its entirety. This makes the second example professional, but it is mouthful. Regarding titles, I would stick to "Dr." Presumably, all professors that you mention in your SOP are Dr.'s, but not all Dr.'s are professors. At the very least, it is unlikely that all of them have the same professorship ranking, as mentioned above by @microglia. Good luck!
