I'm deciding between Vanderbilt and Northwestern, but leaning towards Vanderbilt. If anyone is attending or considering either school please lmk so we can get in touch! Also if there are groupmes/Facebook groups for either school lmk too!

That’s awesome! I went to NU for my undergrad so I’m very familiar with the AuD program and some of the graduate students. If you want to chat with one if them, feel free to let me know and I’ll ask around to see if anyone can chat with you about NU!

So... who has committed to a school?! Let’s hear! Congrats to everyone in advance!

I'm this close to accepting my offer at SDSU/UCSD!! (like 99.9% there) ?

Just waiting on funding from Northwestern to come out tomorrow! (although funding is very unlikely to change my mind at this point)

I turned down my offer from Vanderbilt, so hopefully someone was able to get off the waitlist!

Ah I'm still waiting to hear from them! Has your friend interviewed with them? And mentioned how the interview was like?

Yes, she interviewed with them! She said it was very informative and she was able to talk to 2 very nice faculty members!

Hey! I really appreciate your feedback. My school went virtual and I continued to take exams/classes online in the Spring until I graduated. It was difficult, but I managed. I was just giving reasons in that why I think it should be waived for other people who may not have had the privileges that I had this year (safe study spaces, money set aside for the GRE, not needing to work extra jobs, etc.) but after hearing your thoughts, you have some good points.

    Hey soontobedoc,

For the record, I definitely think your points were very valid. You weren't pushing for "putting a pause" on school, but rather highlighting just an aspect of the admissions process. It's true that COVID-19 has made the past year difficult for many individuals and this certainly has implications for individuals taking the GRE. There is a reason many universities have waived the GRE requirement, as they admit that it is indeed very much culturally-biased. There are many people who do not have the same privilege as others and I think you shed light on their experiences.
