Hi! I interviewed with Pitt on Feb 12-13, and still didn't hear back. How about you?
Hi yes, I heard back with an acceptance on the 22nd of February and got my official finance package offer on March 3rd.

Anyone interviewed with the University of Pittsburgh and heard back? I saw some clinical students have already been offered acceptance and all psych students interviewed together at the same interview weekend event.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on the best way to answer questions asking you to describe a time that you had a disagreement with a coworker or supervisor and how you handled it? I worry that I don’t come off well when I answer these sorts of questions. I’m not great at storytelling, and I used to be someone who wasn’t great at handling disagreements. What sorts of things are interviewers looking for with this question?
Hi! I think it's always best to answer these questions honestly but one thing I always emphasize is that I make sure that I take time to process the argument and then respond when I'm feeling calmer. I honestly tell them that I want to respond in the most rational way possible and that if I answer back with a hot-head, I may not. I use an example where a PI said something really problematic and I took some time to process the comment itself and think about how I wanted to address it, and then emailed the PI and set up a meeting so we can work through the comment and how it affected me.

I prioritized PI researchers and labs to make sure I would be able to focus on my area of interest and because of this I only applied to one developmental psych program and a handful counseling psych programs. I'm applying with a MS in Couples and Family therapy, so the clinical route seemed to make sense. However, I just got an interview offer to the dev. program at U-Pitt which is my top choice. Since I've been immersed in the clinical side of graduate programs I'm pretty nervous for this interview but am SO stoked at the same time. My POI emailed me to let me know the admissions staff was very impressed with my materials so I'm hoping all goes well! ?

Nevermind! I just read your username. Ha!

Are you a Pitt student? I applied to their DevPsy doctoral program with a brand new faculty member. She hasn't had much experience with the university so I wasn't able to find out too much when we met.

Yeah, there were only 3 people interviewing to work with my PI so maybe that made the decision a bit faster. I hope you hear something soon, either way! I think sitting in that period of unknowing is the most difficult part! Best of luck!
