  1. Unfortunately, I don't have any other offers However, I was waitlisted at my top choice so I'm dying to hear back from them.
  2. Is anyone still waiting to hear back from schools (whether getting off the waitlist or rejected) that they were waitlisted in? I want to send the admissions an email to ask my status but obviously don't want to rush them.
  3. Just received an email from Columbia. I was rejected. Did anyone else hear from the school? This year was such a struggle. I applied to 5 schools- 4 rejected and 1 waitlisted. I don't have that much hope on the waitlist but praying for a miracle... Congrats to everyone who received an offer this year!!
  4. Is there anyone who is on the waitlist for a school that they would definitely attend if they got off the list? If so, is there anything you have done so far to let the school know that you are really interested? I obviously don't want to bother the admissions but is it normal to frequently contact them? I was not told whether I am on top of the waitlist or not so I really don't know if I should be just waiting until April (national deadline). Any tips? I really would attend if I got off the waitlist.
  5. Just got my rejection letter from USC. Quite disappointed. I applied to 5 and only waiting for Columbia now. Was rejected from 3 schools (USC, UMich, NYU) and waitlisted from UT Austin. I wonder how many students will get off the waitlist.
  6. I was also rejected for NYU MCC. No interview offer and no prior contact with POI.
  7. Thought I would update: Still waiting for USC and Columbia. However, USC did send out acceptance offers to some people according to the results page. Haven't heard anything from Columbia J-School though. I saw a Columbia acceptance post from last year's thread around this time so maybe I'll hear from them sometime this week. I also applied to NYU, but pretty sure I was rejected since I did not get an interview offer. I was waitlisted for UT Austin Journalism & Media program and rejected for UMich. I know getting off the waitlist especially for funded PhD is extremely rare. What a tough cycle...
  8. Did anyone hear from USC Annenberg? I checked the results page and some of them got an email to check the portal on the 13th. The people who posted all received an offer so I was wondering if all of those admitted were notified first...?
  9. Hey! Did you hear back from UT Austin? I was waitlisted They said they drastically reduced the number of spots this year due to the pandemic. Definitely losing hope now..... I wonder if there are a lot of students on the waitlist...
  10. Nope, not yet. They have interviews so I'm guessing they'll send out interview offers soon!!! Fingers crossed!!
  11. Thanks! No, I had the interview with a different professor. Did you mention Dr. Sharon in your SOP? I wonder how many students they will accept this year. I was told that there are several students who were accepted last year and could not join the class due to COVID-19 so they will be joining this fall instead. Anyways, I am happy that I've received an interview offer since it is one of my top choices. For now, I'm *impatiently* waiting to hear back from them.
  12. Hey! I also just had my interview for the school of journalism and media (UT Austin). I wonder how long it will take for us to get a decision.... I forgot to ask ?
  13. That's great to know. Thank you! I also just got my interview offer from UT Austin. I applied for the Journalism & Media program. I'm getting super nervous. I wonder if it will be like a chat to see if I will be a good fit or like a strict interview setting? Obviously this is my first interview so quite scared not knowing what to expect...
