    VG/E, E/E, E/VG: Awarded (Biomedical Engineering) Applying out of undergrad, degree in Computational and Applied Math and Statistics from liberal arts college, average/good GPA, close to 5 years of research in various research labs at various institutions (including one REU and another paid research experience), one first author paper published, one first author paper in preparation.

    I applied through the CMU computer science application portal. Its supposedly a short 30 minute interview with a POI, but got an official email from the CPCB coordinator to set up the interview.

    Just got an interview invite from a Pofessor with the Carnegie Mellon/ Pitt joint program in computational biology! Very exciting. Now still waiting to hear from two schools.....

    I was contacted by a bioengineering professor at UVA who told me over the phone that I will be invited for an interview! Apparently official interview emails will be sent out in the coming days/ weeks according to him.

    I just heard back about an hour ago from UNC BBSP (I applied to the computational biology/bioinformatics program) with an interview invitation! Although I am not an international student.
