  1. Fingers crossed for us!!! I actually will email them now just to ask if they have a timeline in mind. I’ll let you know if I hear back!
  2. Did anyone else apply to Duke this cycle? I know only one PI indicated they were interested in taking a student, but I haven’t heard anything yet.
  3. On the same boat as you, my friend! You sound absolutely qualified and deserving of a spot somewhere. It’s been radio silence for me as well and I genuinely thought I would have interviewS plural. ☹️ I’m trying not to lose all hope because I’m hoping a few interviews will go out next week from schools I haven’t seen much about on the results page. Fingers crossed for us both, if I was a PI I’d take ya!!!
  4. Does anyone know if programs send interview invites over the weekend? Monday is MLK Jr. Day but I’m hoping we don’t have to wait until Tuesday to start hearing again ?
  5. Hi to the person who posted about a rejection from UW-Madison because MK didn’t have the funding for a student, did MK personally email you about the situation or did you get a formal rejection? I haven’t heard either way but indicated them as a secondary POI. I’m sorry this happened, btw. Best of luck to you otherwise!
  6. Congrats!!! ? My GPA is also lowish (premed my first year too LOL) so I’m worried that they took a look at my transcript and said “nope” it even though I have good research experience. So happy to hear that it’s still possible to get interviews, thanks so much!!
  7. I’m also anxious about USC as it’s my absolute favorite program. Someone yesterday said each core faculty can interview 5 peeps, and each affiliated faculty can interview 2 peeps. They’ll admit 16 total students. It looks like the people who posted on the results page had SH as their POI, who did you apply to? Fingers crossed for us both!!
  8. Has anyone gotten an interview this cycle with an average stat in some area (i.e lowish GPA but good research experience?). I know the programs said they will look at us holistically, but self doubt is definitely creeping in. It would be great if someone can affirm they received an interview/interviews and aren’t an absolute superstar in every area ?
  9. THANK YOU! best of luck to all of us! Does this mean they likely haven’t extended all offers yet? Maybe a slow process?
  10. Hi all, I too am on the boat of applying to 15 programs and hearing radio silence from all of them. I know anxiety levels are skyrocketing these past few days, so join me in saying these words of affirmation for yourself out loud! We are all qualified and deserving of reaching our goals! ? 1. If I do my best throughout this process, I will end up at exactly the school and program where I belong. 2. Setbacks and mistakes are a natural part of this process. I’m taking a big risk by being honest with myself about my dreams and goals—and being willing to go after them! 3. At all moments—right this moment—I am being drawn toward the people, places, and opportunities for my highest good and my highest service to the world. 4. There is enough time, money, energy, and opportunities in life for me to make a difference. There is room at the top for me! 5. I am dedicated to enjoying this journey. Not every part will be fun or easy, but I will not let my life whiz by me in a race to “the next best thing.” I live and enjoy my life today. 6. I’m either winning or learning. Even if things don’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped, I will gain valuable lessons that will be invaluable to me and to others in the future. 7. I give myself permission to go after the opportunities that excite me, to reach out to the people I want to meet, and to apply to the schools that I’d love to attend. 8. I am willing, ready, and going to take one step today toward reaching my goals of getting into my dream school. I know that even just one small action is better than doing nothing. 9. I give myself permission to rest, relax, and take a break from thinking about “grad school stuff” all the time. I know that I don’t have to push myself to exhaustion in order to reach my goals, because my goals want to reach me as much I want to reach them. 10. I surround myself with uplifting people and abundant thoughts that affirm my journey toward the graduate program of my choosing.
