  1. Good luck to you all! It is so hard to believe I was in your collective shoes last year waiting for the news. No matter what the results may be, know that you are all AWESOME! 🙂
  2. Good luck to each and every one of you applying! It is intimidating to apply to Harvard, but you all are worthy for being brave and applying! Hoping every single person here gets an acceptance for this upcoming fall. ?
  3. Hi all! I wanted to plug the different recruitment and information events that HGSE does. I only was able to go to virtual ones, but they were INCREDIBLY helpful in my applications. They are doing in-person events this year too, and I bet they would be even more helpful if you could attend. They keep updating where they will be on part of HGSE's webpage: https://www.gse.harvard.edu/admissions/events
  4. Happy to help too, @Here2Teach! And anyone else can DM me if they like. Good luck everyone!
  5. Happy to help too! Concentration/Program: HDEGRE: Didn't take.Work experience: 1 year full-time after graduating, and worked some part-time jobs while in college.Undergrad: BA in Communications.Undergrad GPA: 3.45Research: Worked part-time for a professor for a year doing data entry for their research.LORs: 2 from professors, 1 from a place I have been volunteering at for almost 5 years. Since I reapplied, I had 1 more letter this time around from my supervisor. Other info: Like @Cole_Wilson, I just tried to connect my SOP with what my LOR writers new about me and the rest of my application.
  6. Hurray! Accepted again to HDE (reapplied this year)! So happy for everyone! ☺️
  7. Did anybody apply to the HDE program? Loving seeing all the people here, and hope to find some (hopefully) future HGSE classmates here. ☺️
  8. Echoing what @PhDhopeful2022 and @Kompetent say about the info sessions in general. I can't speak for the Ph.D. ones, but the Ed.M. ones were very helpful to me last year, and they are doing them throughout this month now for the different areas. I'll be at the HDE session next week. Will anyone else be there too?
  9. Really want to recommend hopping on one of these if you can. They really were helpful for me last time around! If you can't make this one, they have similar online information sessions up until applications are due.
  10. Sure! You let the admissions office know you'd like to petition for a deferral. They have you basically write a letter discussing your situation and what has changed that makes it impossible for you to enroll now, but able to enroll the next year. Mine was a health issue with a family member. They said when I petitioned that deferrals are rarely accepted, but I don't know how rare they are exactly. Hope this helps, @TabTurbo!
  11. Hi everyone! Planning to apply again at HGSE. I was accepted this last year, but had some personal stuff happen and not able to start this fall. Really want to be there, and was so sad to it wasn't possible right now (and petition wasn't accepted to defer). Hoping for the best this time around!
  12. Sadly my petition was denied. ? May have to make a hard choice or two soon....do I jump in, do I try to defer, or do I reapply next year?
  13. ? Sad! I'll still try, because something did change in my life here. I'll let you know what news I get.
  14. Anyone had any luck with petitioning HGSE for additional financial aid? Thinking about petitioning, but don't want to waste my time if it is an automatic "no".
  15. Only loans for me.....wishing I'd gotten some grant or work study with it
  16. Me too! I just want to know at this point!
  17. ? Thank you for finding this and sharing it with us all! The acceptance rate you shared is higher than I thought it was.
  18. Hi all! Wishing I had found this before applying. Would have helped.....oh well! Hope we all get some good news from HGSE soon!
