I spoke to my POI and she told me that the acceptances should come out sometime in early February. They seem to be taking their sweet time lol

I agree; it is pretty unique. I only learned about it because my PI of interest in the department told me to apply to it haha.

I was also one of the rejects for Chemistry alone.

Hey I hope this forum is still active: I got automatic acceptance into University of Michigan Biophysics with no interview. I will be interviewed for Madison Wisconsin's biophysics program in February. Was interviewed by Caltech but have not received a second interview. RIP lol

I encourage you to wait until at least March :). I know it is stressful to wait around, but you don't want to pull the trigger prematurely.

If anyone is wondering about UMich, I received a rejection letter from the Chemistry department today. However, I'm already accepted into their Biophysics department (prospective PI texted me before I got the official acceptance) and am being interviewed for their Chemical Biology department in February.
