  1. Hello Everyone, Is there anyone who has been accepted to the Laurier program that would be willing to take a look and critique my personal statement? I really would like to have another pair of eyes look at it! Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi Jvwillow, Would you be willing to share your experience? Any tips on writing your essay? I was rejected but am going to reply now for the May entry. Any tips would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Now that my mourning is over LOL....I am seriously considering the Windsor program. I don’t want to spend time away from my family but it may be my only option. Can anyone who was accepted to the working professionals regular track MSW share their experience?
  4. I only applied to Laurier, as it’s the only fully online program. Windsor asks for in person 2 days a week, alternating weeks. I find that part time schooling plus commuting to work is enough time away from my kids, so I didn’t want to add more time out of the house. Honestly I really struggle with how post secondary education is structured. They want work experience, high grades, volunteering, etc. How are those of us who started with nothing supposed to acquire all of these things? I’m luckily that I had most of them, but having had a child as a teen, I have been parenting for all my adult life. I don’t have tons of time to volunteer on top of trying to build my life. /rant lol I’m not sure what I’ll do next. I wanted to go into private practice one day, so I need to see what my options are for other online programs.
  5. Regular track Last name starts with V Gosh really wish I knew what I could do more. There is only so much volunteering a person can do when they’re commuting and raising a family. I sit in a board of directors, which l though would help. Oh well....
  6. Same didn’t get in. I have 13 year experience in social service working in the field of settlement. I graduated with a 4.0 with a BAsc of family and community social services. Have very limited volunteer experience tho. Not feeling too bad though. What’s meant to be will be. Hope those who make it in can share their backgrounds to help us work towards it.
  7. And the waiting begins! I'll be refreshing this this forum daily lol
  8. Laurier online pt (not advanced standing) applicants, we aren't expected to hear back until late May/early June right?
  9. Sending hope and support to everyone waiting. I have only applied to the pt online Laurier program, so I have a lot of time before I hear back. I graduated from the SSW program in 2008. I am finishing up my undergrad with Guelph Humber in the Family and Community Social Service program with a 4.0. I have 13 years of experience in the field but very little volunteer experience. Based on the high competition, I am already preparing myself for rejection lol.
  10. WLU Applicants: Does anyone know where on LORIS we can see the status of our application?
  11. Congrats again to those accepted. Virtual hugs and support to those who did not. For those who did not make it in, did they send you any feedback?
  12. Thanks @Nabsterz78and @jljljl333 for your feedback. It sounds like you both have vast experience across multiple sectors of social services. I have worked in the same sector for 13 years and haven't really had the opportunity to branch out.
  13. Hello Everyone! Congrats to all those who have been accepted! I have applied to the part time WLU program for Sept 2021 start.
  14. Hi! Would you be able to share what your education/work/volunteer background is in? Would love any feedback to applying!
