  1. Well guys, i just remembered: i read earlier (somewhere here it was written) that the decisions are made by faculty by the first week of Feb, and then for the second week of Feb they are sent for approval, and after that (by the end of the second week of Feb) the decisions are released (you probably also seen this, I do not remember where exactly I read it here, otherwise would copy a link here). Anyway..why I am saying this? To calm myself, and probably you as well...Because it looks like all the decisions are already made by now (the end of the first week of Feb) and now it is only approval of the decisions which have already been made, and then just a technical thing - sending them out. So, this makes me think that I do not have to worry any more about the selection & interviews (and to check my email hundred times a day whether I get an interview invitation or not), since they are over by now. What I am waiting for now is just a technical thing, i.e. when they send them out. This is it. I mean, according to that post I saw earlier, the decisions are already made....this somehow calms down my nerves as I understand that there is nothing left to worry about..just wait when I get their ready decision..and that's it.
  2. Thank you???.... ? and once again....i am thinking how great it would be to get admitted, and to meet you all guys in reality, in person..you all are so cool? i do not know if you understand me..but one more thing that I was looking for at Stanford is the people who have similar interests like me(education policy/edu issues) and who are on the same vibrations!!! And even being in this little forum and having very limited communication with you I can still see that those who are here, who applied to Stanford GSE - are those people my soul was longing for.. Here in my country we all are kind of imprisoned intellectually, and i feel very lonely here; and was so much looking forward to exchange ideas and thoughts with the great people from Stanford PhD cohort..?????
  3. Well honestly, my GPA is not great at all and I think they may consider this as negative factor. But my professional experience demonstrates that I did a lot. Not sure if that is important for them. And one more thing I worry about is that whether I wrote in my SOP the professors who will be willing to work with me at all...
  4. Thank you..the article is ????and very inspiring....Well....I do really hope that Stanford professors look at each application like that. I am coming from a country (not ready to name it now) very corrupted, with autocracy regime where no research and no freedom of thought and freedom of word. Education system is destroyed. I did everything I could with the resources I had. I need the knowledge of SHIPS edu policy to be able to move on in here, to change the situation in my country. I am becoming very personal here..but anyway....Again..what is said in the article you sent - this is exactly what I hope for? So thank you for giving some hope FreeZapata??
  5. Yes, I just checked the updated (over this night) page, and in the comments they write that this year cohorts are smaller due to covid... But also, I read the brief descriptions of the rejected candidates when they add them, and OMG all the candidates are great, with many years research, publications, good GPA etc..Compared to the excellent credentials of the rejected candidates, I am thinking of my application and well...I think mine looks so poor compared to theirs?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️???????????? Well, today is Saturday morning. One more week to wait...???
  6. I thought it's only me who goes to this page and to the results page like crazy, several times a day! ??? You know, I also go to Stanford admission page to check the requirements and to make sure that I meet all of them ???? They write that GPA is not important for PhD candidates, and they do not publish average GPAs of their current and former students...GRE was optional..and many did not submit it.. So, if they are not looking at GPA, and GPA is not an indicator for them....then it looks like they have to read all SOPs because SOP seems to be the main thing on which they are making their decision on admission? The only thing I really want is them to read my SOP because I put all my heart and soul into it. It will be too sad if for any reason faculty do not even read my essay. Also, thank God we have this group here where I can share my anxiety and worries because you are the only people who know about my application to Stanford PhD. Even my friends and family do not know that I applied because I did not tell them as did not want to be accused in being "too ambitious" and "flying in the sky" and "dreaming about unrealistic things" May be you shared with your friends and family your Stanford aspirations but I didn't ?‍♀️??‍♀️?? And one more thing..you know, I often imagine how the email with the decision comes, and how I open it, and I try to.imagine two reactions: what it will be if I am admitted, and what will be the other one, if not. But I am sure that my hands will be shivering when I will open that email...???????? And also, I think that after the results are known and I come here to this chat I will see some of you will write they are admitted.. OMG.
  7. And just a comment..in that GradCafe forum I have not seen any SHIPS edu policy candidates for fall 2021....?‍♀️ and no results from anyone from GSE for the last week..while there are so many candidates reporting from other programs... I do not know what to think ?‍♀️????
  8. Hi guys ?...i've just looked through the results for the past day on GradCafe, since it's morning here and during the last three weeks I start every morning with checking GradCafe ? So, I noticed that candidates who were admitted are notified either via phone or via email from POI, or via portal and official letter. Do you have any idea why some candidates are notified via phone? Is that option for privileged ones? ?? I mean, for those who are the best from the best? Could you please let me know if you know the answer? Thank you! ?
  9. Good morning! ? Somebody wrote earlier here that the results will be available around February 13..it is next Saturday..so, 8 more days to wait....?????
  10. Well, in my checklist it says "not applicable" for both GRE and TOEFL (I did not submit GRE but submitted TOEFL).. emailed them about that but there was no reply.. So..?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️
  11. Thank you for the detailed reply and for encouraging..Well, it's 3d of February today..so only 10 more days of wait for all of us.. I am just wondering, is it only me being nervous soooooooooo much?? honestly, I am not able to normally concentrate on my daily responsibilities since I do not know what to expect from Stanford and so much in my life depends on their decision. Good luck to everyone with waiting for 10 more days! ??
  12. Thank you for sharing!!! And congrats with having the interview!!! ✋? Well, I am just wondering, why would they ask what a candidate is going to do with his/her PhD and why he/she wants to do it..?? isn't it already written in SOP? Well, as for me, I was not invited for an interview, so do no know if there is any sense to wait????? (applied to SHIPS edu policy).....
  13. Yes, you are totally right, it is so much confusing, for me as well, since I am also international. As for the statuses, I have the same: complete for application, not applicable for TOEFL.
  14. Hi..thanks for sharing. So did your TOEFL status changed from "non applicable" after you sent them your results? I mean it's understandable they are not replying to emails (no reply to mine as well) ?? but was your TOEFL status changed? Thank you?
