Congrats! May I ask were you called for an interview before getting an acceptance? When did you receive your offer?

I agree with what others said, ranking isn't everything and I should also note that rankings does not necessarily mean that university, say, ranked 65th is better then the one ranked 70th. I think it really comes down to your research interests and how it fits with their faculty. Edit: I is also important to note that rankings change depending on what you're looking at, I mainly used usnews ranking when looking but when you check timeshighereducation rankings or qs world rankings, most of the rankings change especially in world rankings.

Yes it was, I was (and I am still are) quite shocked by how fast things proceeded. Especially when considering that I haven't heard anything from the other universities I applied to (for results or interviews).

They sent me a letter of acceptance yesterday.

Thanks! I immediately sent them an email showing my interest, and also politely noting that I need the funding. Fingers crossed!

Just got an acceptance from UAlbany (SUNY) Politics PhD! They said I'm on a short wait list for funding. I really need that, because I can't afford it any other way. Fingers crossed!
