Good luck to everyone still waiting for decisions. Just wanted to say that I turned down an offer from Georgetown's PhD program today, so hoping good news is on the way for someone in this forum soon!
A friend of mine got an unofficial reject from Yale today, and their advisor said the list of final offers from Yale went out yesterday. And it's another friend of a friend who recently claimed the Harvard acceptance in modern European; from what I was told, I think they were notified a week or two ago.
I'm sorry, I know this is such a demoralizing and difficult period. Just remember it only takes one good fit, there are more to come, and there is completely no reason to rule out anything next year. Don't give up hope--you seem passionate and enthusiastic, and things will work out one way or another. I'll have my fingers crossed for you.
I think someone in the art history forum reached out to a Princeton administrator who said that results are not expected until late Feb/early March, so it might be a while longer...
I've heard of a friend of a friend being admitted to Harvard (modern European) ostensibly a week or two back, so I think it is definitely off the table.
Thank you! This is a really helpful way of looking at it. I was sort of going off of past years where people said the DGS or POI contacted them in advance of the GSAS, so if the DGS told me that GSAS would be in touch within two weeks I felt it might be a rejection. But I suppose there is always hope...
Reached out to Harvard DGS who mentioned the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences would be in touch within two weeks. Taking that to mean an imminent rejection?
