There should be a form you sign and send to the admissions office via email! Best of luck in your future!
Thank you so much!

Anyone who got into Waterloo MPS this year, how long did it take for you to see your official offer on Quest?
Usually you will get an email from Waterloo saying you have received an offer of admission, once you receive that email, your quest will most likely update.

Congrats to everyone who has received an offer for 2021 Fall! Does anyone know how to decline your offer from Munk School of Public Policy?

Congratulations! Same here! I got mine 2 days ago. I almost gave up on MPS and was thinking of going to Carleton instead for the MPPA. But now I am confused where to go- Waterloo or Carleton!
Congrats on your offers ! I think that if you choose to go to Waterloo there is still a lot of potential for you to discover avenues in the federal public service. I went there during my undergrad and I am currently working in Feds due to a previous co-op I did in my 3rd year. But of course, there are also lots of advantages when it comes to Carleton given that it is in the Nations capital and many federal departments hire master students... either way, not being able to speak french is not a big deal, I know a lot of people who are not fluent in french - and plus, as an employers - depending on the department may require you to take some courses in French.
In my opinion, french is necessary to climb up the ladder in i.e. being a Director etc but this is just my observation as a student who did a couple co-ops in the public sector.
Overall, if you are worried about French, you could always take some courses. Waterloo has a french course that is no credit in the MPS program, and I am sure you can take some french courses at Carleton, although I am no sure if the courses are an additional cost.
I don't know if this helped.. but best of luck to you on your final decision.

I assume that a lot of people on this discussion forum applied to Waterloo and Carleton. Is anyone else having a super hard time deciding which school they will be accepting? Waterloo is a fully self-funded program, but it is highly recognized (although it is newer when compared to Carleton) and has high co-op placement rates, and just recently launched a graduate diploma which could be highly attractive to employers.
On the other hand, Carleton gives quite generous funding, and has been around for such a long time. The program is highly recognized by managers in the federal government and of course, the location of the school is right in the nations capital.
I was wondering if anyone else can shed light on why they are accepting their offer (or have already accepted, current students options are welcomed) to one of these schools or help make a pro/con list.
Thanks!

Hey y'all! Im in the MPPA program at Carleton and can answer any questions if you have any about the program from a student's perspective! Feel free to DM on here or over discord Sven#6057. Congrats to those who have received offers and good luck to those still waiting. I know how anxiety inducing it is and just know that an acceptance/rejection does not define your intelligence or worth ❤️
Could you comment on the structure of the program? When does the co-op term happen and how long is it?

Did yours go to "in review by Faculty and Postdoc affairs" or "in review by the department"? Mine went from "recommended for assessment" to "in review by the department" which I'm a bit worried about because that is listed as a stage previous on the status page so it seems like my application went back a step
Mine went from Review by graduate Department to review in progress by Faculty and post doc affairs. Check your status this morning, it probably changed.

To those who received a offer from Carleton yesterday - how long was the status of your app listed as" Review in progress by Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs" before you received a decision and when did you get in your app! Also congratulations I hope the offer was met your expectations.
What does your portal say, curious? Mine changed from recommended for assessment to in review

Has anyone else been admitted to Carleton?

Just got an email for an offer from Waterloo MPS!! I'm ecstatic and mostly likely will be accepting the offer. Email says Quest will be updated in about two weeks.
CONGRATS !!! Happy for you, I went to Waterloo for undergrad and had some of the profs in the program. I really think you will love it ! I am still trying to decide if I will accept Waterloo as I also applied to Carleton but both are amazing programs !

Awesome, that's amazing!!!
I actually received an email a few days ago from the Director as well saying how he will be sending me an offer of admission but its also conditional on the grad office's review so I didn't want to push my luck and announce it to the world. ?
I'll keep you updated if and when I receive any updates for the Director/Waterloo! Nice to know i've made at least one friend virtually if we both attend the program. ?
Congrats Yes a virtual friend in these challenging times, we shall keep in touch !

Thats amazing, congratulations!
Did he send you an email offer/e-letter? Or did he tell you he will be sending you an offer?
Thank you ! Yes he sent me an email saying I will be receiving an offer of admission and that it is conditional as the grad office has to make sure that I meet the admission requirements.

Me too! Congrats on the person who got into Munk I was not expecting them to be sending offers so early, given they’re usually one of the last schools to send according to previous grad cafe threads.
I’ve applied to Munk, Queens, York and Carleton; but have only heard back from York. Good luck to all and if anyone else hears back from Munk, please post it on the thread!
I have not heard of anyone else receiving an offer from Munk but perhaps they will notify us via email that they completed their first round. Congrats on York, and good luck on all your other applications!
