Hi, I also wanted to thank everyone for being so supportive on this forum! Sorry to be annoying, but is anyone that got into Illinois planning on rejecting their offer? I'm high on the waitlist, and I really hoping to get an admit.
-
Nevermind, I just heard back and have been accepted.
-
I know this isn't a super popular school on here, but has anyone heard from Kansas? It is the end of the timeline they gave me.
-
Hi, is there anyone that got into Illinois that is planning on rejecting their offer? I'm just trying to be prepared.
-
So I have no news from Northwestern. Is that a good sign or are more rejections still coming? Hoping I was maybe waitlisted.
-
Has anyone gotten waitlisted at Northwestern? I'm holding out hope that maybe I'm not actually rejected
-
Is it okay to ask how far up on a waitlist you are? Are they even allowed to tell you? I'm planning on accepting Illinois if they are able to extend me an offer.
-
I applied to USC last year, and it was the very last result I got. I'm thinking it was maybe in early March? They were super late.
-
In case anyone is curious or applied here, University of Kansas let me know that they will release decisions either the last week of February or first week of March.
-
I would probably assume rejection from Illinois Urbana Champaign. They seemingly have already sent out acceptances and waitlists. I'm sorry, hang in there. There is still a lot to go.
-
Ah man thanks for replying. Sorry they ghosted you

Any word on Vanderbilt or Northwestern rejection/waitlists?
-
Emailed Illinois to ask about their timeline. I was informed that I am waitlisted (but it seems like more of an unofficial waitlist).
-
Got an official rejection from WashU/WUSTL. This application season has been rough for me. Was told I had a good application package.
-
Another painfully slow day huh? I emailed my preferred program and they said they wouldn't release decisions until late February/early March. Sigh. By the way I also emailed WashU and Illinois about timeline. I'll report when/if I hear anything.
-
Are you interested in Kansas at all? I see you applied there, and I did too. I know it isn't super high ranking, but I'm very interested in the program.

Hi, I interviewed at Boulder last cycle. From what I understand that wasn't common procedure, but they only had one spot in each subfield due to COVID/lack of funding.
-
Hi, someone reported an official rejection from Vanderbilt on the results page. Where did you see that? Congrats to everyone for Princeton!!!
-
Congrats to everyone getting good news today! It seems like you all are doing a great job this cycle! Has anyone heard back from Illinois in the American subfield? It seems like all the admits on the results page are international.
-
Hope everyone gets some good news this week! Good luck to everyone as we go into Monday

Hi this is my second cycle! Last cycle I applied to I think 12 schools and I got 3 fully funded PhD offers (Georgia, FSU, and ASU) and 1 fully funded 1-year MA offer. I wasn't completely sure I wanted to commit to years of graduate school, and the offers I received were from good schools but ultimately too far away. So, I went with the accelerated MA at my undergrad institution. This would allowed me to get a taste of grad school and hopefully improve my application. I was able to drastically improve my writing sample, learn Stata, get teaching experience, get graduate-level research experience, and get three really good letters of rec (from the professor I TAed for, the professor I did research for, and the professor that heads our MA program). I've been told my application looks even better from last year from my current institution. However, take this with a grain of salt because I've only heard back from one program so far (and I'm assuming a rejection from Northwestern).

Is the Illinois acceptance legit? Anyone claiming it?
-
Can we assume that if we haven't gotten an interview invite from Vanderbilt that it is a rejection?
-
I haven't heard from WashU. That is my top choice, so the waiting is killing me!

Anyone have any ideas on why the timeline seems so different this year? I applied last year and received most of my decisions by now. This year I've only hear back from 1/6 of the schools I applied to. I'm guessing COVID has had an impact on this unusual timeline.
