Typically Illinois decisions are out by now. Does anyone know why it is so delayed? Northwestern as well.

I wanted to reapply to see if I could possibly get into higher tier schools with a master's. Plus last year's cycle was brutal. I also have a partner who is currently in law school to consider. The accelerated master's was much closer to them. I really liked Georgia and their program. Their faculty was great, and it was a difficult decision.

That is just a super rough estimate for Georgia. It may have been early February; I don't completely remember.

So for Georgia the DGS called me mid-January and told me I was accepted. I was prepared for an interview, but it was just a friendly call. They were also really competitive with funding (I was between two programs, and they definitely did their best to sweeten the deal). There was no interview. They also flew me out for a visit day. For ASU there was no interview. The acceptance came through on the portal first (I believe). I also got an email quickly after. I received it 2/15. For FSU I simply got an email. There was also no interview there. I was accepted on 2/11.

Hi I was admitted to ASU, UGA, and FSU last cycle if you have any questions regarding how the process went last year.

Hi! I wanted to introduce myself. This is my second cycle for PhD admissions. I accepted a one-year accelerated master's last year. I'm trying again, hopefully this cycle is a little less harsh than last year. My subfield is American with interest in social movements and political psychology. Where is everyone applying?

That is a great question. I think they were back and forth if they could accept applications, and at the time of the application they thought they could. But, even though I go here, it took a lot of emails and zoom meetings to even figure that out.

Hey, so I go to Missouri (Mizzou). We just straight up don't have a PhD program next fall because of lack of funding due to Covid. Just wanted to let you know.

I received that same email from USC. The email does not mention a waitlist, so I'm assuming there isn't one. I'll keep checking my portal just in case.

I sent mine virtual gift cards from Starbucks. Just $5 each to show my appreciation

Did USC do interviews?
-
UGA is having us all visit on different weekends. I think there is a very small number of us, so it is doable.

If anyone has advice on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have an in-person visit coming up with a school. They are booking the hotel and they are reimbursing me for my flights. I am scheduled to fly out on Thursday, but my state is undergoing a crazy snow/ice storm. I emailed them once to see if I could change my visit, but then I checked on my tickets. There is a cancellation/change fee for the tickets. I'm not sure if they would be willing to pay it, and it isn't something I could really afford. So, I told them that I would get myself to the airport, but that there was a very good chance of the flight being delayed or cancelled. In reality, I'm very nervous to drive the 2hrs to the airport. I have no idea what to do, and how to handle this without making myself look bad with the school.

I can claim a ASU admit, AP, got it through email about 20mins ago
-
Honestly, the way it is written it is very difficult to understand. Originally it said "48,000", but if you read through it a few times you notice that actually includes the free tuition as well. I'm still uncertain what the amount actually is. They listed about 4 different numbers in the letter, making it impossible to tell.

It was a pretty generic but long email with approximate funding attached (it was extremely confusing, still haven't figured it out). I am in American (I want to study modern feminist movements). I have a bachelors, pretty low GRE scores(under their 25th percentile, so I was surprised), but a high GPA , some research experience, and at least one very strong letter of rec.
-
No problem! It was in a email with a official letter/contract.
-
Did anyone else just get accepted to FSU?
-
Hi! They sent my official letter with my funding about a week after my phone call. It isn't a lot, but it's doable
-
Thank you! I do think there is a difference there. I think different people analyze the applications for the two different departments. However, this is simply me guessing. Personally, I'm American, and I believe most of the other AP applicants have been notified. They are admitting about 8 in total, 4 for each department.
-
I applied before the priority deadline, but I'm not sure if there is a difference. Also, I saw your other comment. The fast-track program is just a fancy way to say a direct admit to the PhD program from undergrad without a masters. This makes me think that decisions would be out around the same time. Also, the website it somewhat wrong it says the fast-track program allows you to do it in 4yrs but DGS said pretty much everyone does it in 5.
-
Hi! I can claim a Georgia acceptance. Sorry I'm new and you have no reason to believe me, but DGS, Teena, called me about two weeks with my acceptance to the fast-track program.
-
Thank you so much! Do you think this means all acceptances have already mostly gone out or are they just coming randomly/in batches?
-
Hey! I've been stalking this thread for awhile! I also applied to USC. I'm sure you have already explained this, but how did you find out about your acceptance?
