  1. Dang - That's quite a bit of time! I would get in touch with them. I received official email notification from SGS Graduate Admissions Application <sgs.apply@utoronto.ca> a week after unofficial email from department. It was a basic email that said to check https://apply.sgs.utoronto.ca where a decision document and funding document was posted. Have you heard from LLE at all?
  2. Thank you! I'm not. Canadian Master's and American Bachelor's. Send them an email to check on the status of your application. Best to you!
  3. I've been accepted to full time PhD Language and Literacies. Got unofficial department email late February and the official letter by email first week of March.
  4. I once applied for a new program at an Ontario college, was rejected, then found out a year later they actually didn't admit anyone because the start of the program was delayed a year. I emailed asking for my application fee back, and I got a refund even after all that time. I'm sure they will be reasonable and give you a refund if you email graduate admissions. If that fails, another avenue to pursue would be reaching out to your credit card company to reverse the charge. In Canada, I think there may be consumer protections against this.
  5. Canadian institutions do not require the GRE and have top ranking education schools - look at OISE at University of Toronto. https://www.oise.utoronto.ca/oise/News/2020/OISE_ranks_fifth_in_QS_World_University_Rankings.html
  6. Agree with CafeConGabi, and I have a similar issue with my proposed research in digital education. Find leads by checking references of UK prof's publications for US scholars, dig into the issues of journals those authors are published in for US authors, same goes for conferences, etc. I follow UK scholars on Twitter to see who they're following and tweeting. What's your specific topic, if you don't mind me asking? Best to you!
  7. I looked into Stanford's LDT PhD and MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten, but I've applied to Language and Literacy programs at schools that excel at educational technology research, digital centres, labs, etc. I live in Canada, and though I'm from the U.S., I can't imagine going back for an extended period of time right now. Also, tuition for Canadian Education PhDs is less than $6000 a year and most programs are fully funded to $30k with additional funding opportunities. Message me if you want to ask questions about MET.
  8. Congrats!!! I love it here - I'm originally from Texas. Good thing about living in Niagara is the benefits of being between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario: warmer winters, cooler summers, and we don't get too much snow. If you live below the Niagara Escarpment, there's another little micro climate. Best to you in figuring out the visa situation with your partner!
  9. I'm enamoured by Stanford's program but it's not online. Different from LDT but University of British Columbia's MET program and University of Edinburgh's MSC in Digital Education are both online. I'm almost finished with UBC's MET program, and I've enjoyed it.
  10. @dancewithmoonlight @sugals I'm curious about this program, as well, because I live in Ontario near Brock. All three campuses have a combined total enrolment of under 50,000, so it's a way to serve students in three different areas of Ontario. Best to both of you, and if you end up living in Niagara let me know and I can point you in the direction of things you might need around here! I'm also from the U.S. but have been living here a few years.
