  1. Yes, I would email the DGS and the professors who emailed you (and your POI, if it is not the same person). About the ones that you met, I don't think it is absolutely necessary unless you feel comfortable with it.
  2. That's super nice. I really hope everyone is on the same page. It is not about putting pressure or pushing anyone to decide on what they are not ready to; just the general recommendation is to inform the decision as soon as they are ready... not letting it to the last minute, or even worse, don't respond to an offer at all, since there are a lot of people waiting. Good luck on your visit days!!!
  3. That's why when you are 100% sure you are not attending a certain school, it is crucial to inform the Department in question ASAP because if you don't actively reject an offer, the Department might be unable to move things on the waitlist and prepare new offers. When April 15th comes, everything is over; the admission cycle officially ends.
  4. Yes, not responding by April 15th normally is taken as if you are rejecting their offer.
  5. I get your point, and it's also valid pov. 😌
  6. As far as I know from a previous admission cycle, and according to what I have been informed from the university that waitlisted me, the April 15th deadline is firm. I know it is weird, but you must consider the optics. Academia is a very close and small circle, and making decisions that might make you look like an unserious student/candidate/future scholar is probably a risk not worth taking.
  7. Guys, UNC ghosted me lol. No rejection, no acceptance, no waitlist, nothing. What do you recommend me to do?
  8. According to previous years Rutgers should send their decisions this week. Syracuse sent theirs acceptances a few weeks ago, I don't know why they don't send their rejections already as well (also waiting on it).
  9. No idea, since this thread is for Political Science, but good luck. πŸ˜€
  10. Claiming CU Boulder waitlist. ☺️ With the utmost peace and love, I want to ask respectfully that if you were admitted (or even waitlisted) and you don't plan to attend CU Boulder, please inform your decision to decline to the Department as soon as possible since it was mentioned to me that getting off the waitlist is directly related to the people admitted. At this point, I'm almost begging. From the beginning, Colorado was one of my top choices, and considering that, on top of it, this cycle has been brutal, I would really appreciate your kind decision to decline. Please don't read this as a pressure of any kind, just as a considerate request. Thank you in advance, and my DM's are open for anything you want to chat about it.
  11. It has been a brutal cycle, however, I'm glad you have a job that pays the bills. Good luck with everything you do in your life. ☺️
  12. Is anyone claiming the UNC rejection after contacting the Department? If you can DM me, it would be appreciated; thanks in advance. ☺️
  13. I got rejected from Johns Hopkins and Cornell with a difference of 5 minutes between emails. 🫠 Everything hurts and I'm dying.
  14. Claiming UCSB rejection. 0a/0w/9r/8p Great fit. Research and teaching experience, a perfect 4.0 MA GPA. One paper published. This admission season has been brutal. I'm really sad.πŸ’”
  15. Never mind, I got rejected this morning. πŸ« πŸ˜”
  16. Hi, everyone. This is my second time applying; I was very active on this forum the first time, and I'm a lurker this second time. It seems like this year Maryland is sending their decisions in a more personalized way than other schools, so if anyone got a decision in the CP subfield (it does not matter if you were accepted, wl, or rejected), please let me know the DMs, I have a question. Thanks in advance. Congratulations to those admitted everywhere, and good luck to everyone else (including me).
  17. Thanks. My subfield is IR. About funding: I contacted the department, and apparently there is some kind of funding waitlist.
  18. Claiming UConn acceptance!!!!!!!!! I can't describe how happy I am.
  19. Thanks, and nothing yet about UConn, but someone emailed the department, and they answer that the decisions will be sent in mid-March.
  20. I just got a CUNY offer for the MA program. (IR)
