Hi I'm finishing my first year at BCSSW right now. If you are looking to be pushed in your beliefs and want a progressive program, BC isn't the best place for that. The admin is kind of a mess and there's a lot of clinical adjunct professors that I know of that aren't really great teachers. It's supposedly ranked high but the program itself needs a lot of revamping in my opinion.
I got an email from Hunter last night saying I needed to sign up for a group interview but all the slots were full... I sent them an email and am waiting for a response.
I also saw in the discord (https://discord.gg/XJ7HXCPE) that some people have gotten a second email saying the first email was a mistake?
Does anyone know more about this?
I heard back from Columbia yesterday (applied 12/1) and was waitlisted. This is a shot in the dark, but does anyone know the chances of getting off the waitlist? I'm trying to process it more like a rejection so I don't get my hopes up, but I have no idea what to expect from them.
For anyone who still has their Penn interview coming up, I just had mine and it was super easy. Not too formal and very relaxed. The person who conducted my interview was not an admissions person, but she had graduated from UPenn in the past and was asked to do these interviews. It felt a lot easier to communicate with her and I was far less anxious throughout than I would have been with an admissions person.
Okay I need some help. I emailed BC about an extension on my decision because I'm still waiting for Columbia and Hunter. They asked me when I think I should be able to give them a decision, but I have no idea when to tell them. Can anyone who is more knowledgeable about when to expect acceptances help me?
Boston College sent me my acceptance on 2/12 and said I have to give them a decision by 3/5. This seems extremely short, right? I'm still waiting on Columbia, Hunter, Boston University, and my Penn interview to decide what I'm going to do.
